“Who remembers Herbie? He started out as a sombrero drawn in chalk on boxcars and became a legend. The MoPac took him one step further and came up with this special car seen here at Yard Center in Dolton, IL. March 22, 1981.”
“This bright green Maine Central box car was just asking to have its picture taken back in 1975. Bensenville, IL in the Milwaukee Road's yard.”
“A nice and clean E&N box car, in classic CP multi-mark scheme, sits in the former Monon yard in Hammond, IN way back in the 1970's.”
“BAR 9211 box car Hammond, IN. The old Monon yard in Hammond had a road that paralleled almost its entire length. It was great for shooting rolling stock, as you can see. This car may not be as sharp as the State of Maine cars, but it still looks good to me. January 1, 1978 .”

“SOO 177686, Hammond, IN. Only one guess as to whose car this is...This 50ft plug door box car was just shining away on a cold February day in Hammond, IN along the old Monon yard tracks. When I found it, it looked brand new, and kind of was. It had been rebuilt earlier that month in the Shops at North Fond du Lac, WI, back when the Soo Line reigned supreme there. February 27, 1979.”
