It was a funny project, at first I wanted to just recreate the original pink dress as close to the movie as possible, but then I realized that the one she wears when she comes down the stairs and the one the mice and birds show her, are kinda different (mostly she's missing the overskirt panels later), so that meant MAKING CHOICES 😩
Plus, I wanted to add my own touches, a little embroidery here and there, just to show she belongs with all the other dolls (her stepsisters and stepmother DO have modified dresses, so making this one differently wouldn't theme well in the end! 👀), and this is what I came out with!
There's a super puffy triple layered petticoat underneath, and the dress is fully lined (which was kind of a pain to do woth all the skirts 😶🌫️)
Then I basically modified a bit of the skirt shape to have both the overskirt and the A line of the underskirt together AND I actually created the central embroidery design from scratch! It's supposed to be a bird and one of the mice sewing together the dress, hope it shows 😆
