#doll modification

Being the way I am, I decided to give my customization project a little last-minute touch along with everything I'd already had planned:

Meet Lotte, my second-ever customized Labubu! Yeah, the colors over her actual eyes are harsh and juvenile, but isn't that a huge part of TADC's entire aesthetic?

The eyes on the stomach and back were all part of my original plan, and I'm honestly really happy with how they turned out! (Even so, Lotte's face still looked a bit plain compared to her new traits, so I decided to take a chance and bring the felt back out.) The arrangement might look a bit wobbly/irregular, but hey, Abstraction canonically leaves your mind wobbly/irregular, doesn't it?

On top of this, I've got one more finished product to share:

Funny story: right after I placed my order for the eye-charms, I immediately started looking for a tooth-charm to go with them (because you can't honor Caine without teeth), but none of the options I found would've flowed very well with this design. So, imagine my surprise when I found the perfect pendant sent as an extra little gift in the package with the eyes! Like the actual chain, the ring around the tooth and the little bar behind it were recycled from other stuff in my jewelry box.

Despite what I said in my last post, I won't be able to post my theater outfit until a while later (long story not worth telling). I'll still try to share before the night is done, if anyone is still interested, lol.

The Husband did not notice it was not a colour changing mermaid toy, just the box had a picture of a pink mermaid. Cue an incredibly tired and heartbroken 3yr old crying her heart out.

But! Because of who I am as a person, I had some left over colour change vinyl and 15 minutes with a cricut

(It only goes pink in ice cold water but at least the mermaid already had snowflakes on it)

I just finished these boots for him tonight after work!!

Finally found a Rainbow High doll at Goodwill so I could test the fit of the new g5 (g5.5?) pony heads! Proportion wise, I think it’s a really good fit.

This is a fake Blythe I've been working on on and off for the last couple of years.

She's an older "Basaak" fakie, which I feel like used to be much more standard in the world of Blythe fakes and customisation before the popularization of the modern AliExpress azone body "icy" Blythe. We're in somewhat of a fake Blythe renaissance, for better or for worse.

Idk if ANYONE remember, but a year or two ago i started Mars as an OOAK (actually.. i started welcome to Mars idea while doing that doll)

Everything whent... not perfecly but it wad good untill thoses darn pants and shirt! When i did them, i forgot to take into consideration their body mod. I gave em top surgery so the shirt was way too large and the tail made the pants sit up too hight and the pants were just a nightmare. Since i stopped fashion school almost a decade ago my love for sewing soured so bad.

But last week i decided to FINALY ARE DO THE PANTS. I re did them all, on the photos its the pants when i finished most of it. I had to change the pattern by hand. Made the belt loop in a v shape so it sit lower, and added extra leight on it so i could add some velcro and make it close over the tail, and be adjustable.i also simply cut the shirt in two and made the front panel shorter.. i should re do it all since i only used black thread but .. im lazy haha i might do it some time. But its not a priority

Ive been working on small details and accessories. Im 98% done.. i just need to find shoues or make some? Idk how tho haha but im very proud of it! Its giving me more confidence to finaly start to work on my BJD, and on my other OOAK ive left on the side, barely touched.

Discovered you can completely and utterly turn the Shibajuku head inside out if you get it hot enough (and cut a large headcap).

I am super pleased because I can shave off the eyewells all the way! This has been a big problem inside Poochie's head, I could never angle the xacto well enough to get the vinyl remnants out to allow for better eye placement. I can't turn her inside out any more either lol. But this head might have better chances.

If she cools back down right, anyway. I've flipped her back out now and she looks ... funny. I don't know if the turning overstretched her, or if the interior vinyl removal is making her eyes sag a bit, but she looks strange around the bridge of her nose at the moment 😅
