I'm rewatching Total Recall in 4K with Dolby Atmos tonight and I think with my fixed layout the effects are better but the Atmos mix is mixed too quietly compared to the OG Dolby Stereo mix IMHO so it's still kinda disappointing..

Now that I improved the orientation of my Atmos speakers virtually all my videos that support it sound better with more discrete overhead and 3D sounds. I have the first Doctor (William Hartnell) serial The Daleks in Colour and they gave that an Atmos upgrade and it sounds wonderful now!
TBH the colorization of the show isn't that great and I could do without it but that sound upgrade really helps to draw me into the episode.. Only a select few other classic Doctor Who serials have Atmos or even standard surround but it's all good with Atmos having the edge..

I can tell my Dolby Atmos ceiling channel speakers are definitely set up correctly at this point because I fired up the 2016 helicopter demo and it clearly plays the helicopter sound up above in a 3D sort of way!!
