Musashi wrote Dokkodo about a week before he died in 1645. That fact gives the text a hard edge, because these were not passing thoughts. They were final instructions from a man who had tested himself for decades.
Also called “The Way of Walking Alone,” Dokkodo sets out 21 rules on discipline, detachment, honour, and self-mastery. If you train in martial arts, its lessons reach far beyond…

"Terima sesuatu sebagaimana adanya."
— Miyamoto Musashi
Lembah tidak pernah memilih hujan atau cerah.
Ia tidak menolak badai, tidak mengundang pelangi.
Ia hanya terbuka —
kita mulai mengalir, bukan melawan.
menerima bukan berarti lemah,
Angin lembah selalu terbuka.
-----
Prinsip pertama dari Dokkōdō — “Accept everything just the way it is.”
Miyamoto Musashi nulis Dokkōdō sehari sebelum wafatnya.

In Japanese there is a word 'Dokkodo" the path of aloneness
The path of walking alone
And while I acknowledge that there is more to this philosophy then this, that doesn't make what I say untrue, for you need to walk a path of true aloneness to find your shadow self.
You need to shake hands with the devil and walk past him.
There is a freedom in Aloneness
There is a freedom in being alone that you cannot access with a partner.
There is a road you walk that's filled with opportunity and possibilities that had you chosen a husband; would keep you chained and shackled.
His "love" will someday spoil and leave a bitter flavor in your mouth as you mourn the life you could have had, we're you alone.
The man who claimed to be your rock is your rock that is drowning you, tied to a chain and wrapped around your middle, you are tossed into a deep ocean of infidelity and uncertainty.
He has put cement shoes on your feet so you cannot run.
So please, be in love with alone, love your own space like a lover.
Love being alone and in your own space the way you would have kept a home for a man.
