Earl Joooones | Terrier Mix | Long Beach, CA, USA Minolta Maxxum 5 | Arista 400 I've written about Earl before. He's probably the dog I see the most next to my own. He gets a lot of love because of his awesomeness. And here, he is basking in the sun in his 49ers bandana. Suffice it to say, he was bummed that they lost the super bowl.

Miles is a dog rescued from the pound by my friend Beans, and a dog that I grow more and more fond of each time I see him.  I love Miles' distinct personality; he is startled at almost any movement or sound, often runs away when I call him, and has the tendency to bark at me. These might seem like odd characteristics to be fond of, but if you knew Miles, you would understand. Part of the reason why I love these things about him is that despite these regular characteristics, I know he's made a little room in his heart for me, even if just a tiny bit (and even if he forgets about it from time to time). The more often I started seeing him, the less he would bark, the less he would be startled, and the more often he would come when I called him. I love that he is giving trusting people another chance, even though it terrifies him. I also love that he looks like he's smiling when his tongue is out, and that he shakes his leg when I scratch his sweet spot :)

The sweetest dog that I ever did meet. The owner was just as friendly and just as kind, and sat Bella next to him so that I could take the photo. Isn't she a beaut??

My friends and I were eating breakfast at a donut shop before heading on our photo adventure. A woman put her this little yorkie on the chair behind us, and went in the shop to get some food herself. This tiny dog just kind of chilled there and waited for her (with a bark here and there) until she came out and left with it.
