Gosh, I love the weekends.
We did a 5.5km walk this morning over on Puttenham - haven't been there for ages. It's great terrain, so up and down, knackered me out! I had her on her 10m drag line. Kept hold of it every now and again.
We passed one dog at the beginning, and she got quite barky but no lunging. We then encountered 2 offlead dogs with an extremely nice owner. I called out and said mine wasn't very good with other dogs and she called them to her and they were pretty good. Think we had one lunge as they came by but that was it.
The rest of the walk we met dogs "offlead"....a bit scary. The first two i had no time to prepare as they came round the corner. 2 Spaniels. She had a bit of handbags with 1 of them but otherwise was very polite with them. We then followed them a little while and I chatted to the lady owner. Ruska was barking intermittantly and would go after the others but would come back when called. (Progress!!)
She then met two golden retrievers who she was STELLAR with. A few sniffs and barks, and off we went.
We met another spaniel who she sniffed and then chased. I'm not sure what the chasing is - if it's purely play, or if it's her wanting to herd, I'm just not sure. I hope it's nothing worse.
In the evening we went for a cycle ride. Not a long one, and not very fast because she's not used to it. She was very good, ran by my side for most of it or lagged back if i was going too fast. As we came onto the railway line i saw the guy with the border terrier who we see fairly often. I stopped, put Ruska into a sit and treated her as the BT came past. Not so much as a woof!
Cycling was super fun, must do it more!

Did a run with her today - 6.3km or so. She'd already had a 3-4 mile walk with Elmira earlier in the day and some time hanging out with Luna.
Running-wise - she still doesn't want to run out front. I don't know if this is because everytime we've run she's been hot/tired/not used to the harness, or if my lead-pulling training has worked so much she's not sure what to do. I think she enjoyed it though.
We just met 2 dogs - a golden retriever that lay down as soon as he saw her? either that's some very good training or an odd quirk. She started pulling forward but no barking, but then I got her looking at me in a slow trot and we zoomed on by - I was holding the treat practically in front of her nose though. But no barking or lunging.
The only other dog we saw was what seemed to be a norwegian elkhound or a swedish valhund. very distinctive. It was as we came up to the end of the railway line and I was about to do a turn around. She again went to pull forward and I turned around and called "this way" and then the lead gave her a tug and she came with me.
We ran past a spaniel playing in the playground and she looked a couple of times. We also ran past some dogs playing in a garden and again she looked but not much else.
A positive time this time, compared to yesterday. Though obviously far fewer dogs and I think she's a little more focussed when running!
