You know what I'd like to see again in the Forgotten Realms? More sanctified liches.
Myrkul is the first god that comes to mind that does this but a lot of death gods in Faerun have undead servants that, by classification, are liches. The elven god of old age, Labelas, has lich guardians of ancient structures called baelnorns, for instance.
Myrkul's sanctified liches are called doomwardens, they're the main thing that consecrates his temples since Myrkulite temples function as ossuaries and a doomwarden serves as a tomb guardian. Funnily enough when Kelemvor took on the majority of Myrkul's portfolio before the Second Sundering and all the temples were converted, Kelemvor actually didn't remove most of these doomwardens, so they're probably still active in major ossuaries all over Faerun.
Sanctified liches don't follow the same creation process as a traditional lich and don't need souls to sustain them like a traditional lich does. As a result they don't really fall apart or lose their minds, they just remain in a weird, detached stasis (they do still decay there's just a stopping point, they more mummify). They can lose their minds though esp if the lichdom is incomplete or unwilling but that's actually more common with baelnorns than doomwardens.
But they're cool. They're an idea of lichdom and undeath not as a hungry, devouring force but as stasis in the space between, liminality in its purest form.
Oh and they're like 95% more terrifying as a potential end point of a dungeon because can you imagine fighting a lich with clarity and divine rage?

Hope Everyone had a nice Christmas and New Years! Starting the New Year with some concept pieces I did a while ago for my favourite Lich wannabe Lucirius. Currently in the campaign we're going back to his home Kingdom to confront his not so great father and save his mother from a dragon worshiping cult. I'm sure it'll all go swimmingly and nothing will go wrong!
