The best D&D combat encounter I played was in a session run by my dad. We (five players) were exploring some old abandoned lab, and we had broken into this room where we were confronted by a group of five shadowy forms.
Being D&D players we attacked them, of course. Swords, arrows, I was an artificer so I had a flamethrower, and so on. Then they attacked; swords, arrows, and one shot a blast of fire.
This continued for a bit, until one of the players went down. When they did, one of the shadow things went down as well. We didn't think much of it at first, until someone revived that player, and the shadow thing was revived as well. It took a couple more rounds, but we eventually tried not attacking for a round.
That round, the shadow things didn't attack either.
And then they disappeared.
We were attacking each other.
Random Encounter : Hide & Seek
Third one already, this time with mimics. The goal is to make a full d10 table of those for every environment.
Random Encounter : Radio Tower
Another encounter using my illusionist kobold homebrew. Glory to the GDCN !
Random Encounter : The Unwanted
Little random encounter using the new spotted hag monster.

In my last dnd sess we were at a magic shop so I decided to buy some alchemical fire and did some bartering, rolled a nat 18 plus my very high bonus and got a good deal. Tried to buy a magical fan and rolled what I think was a 15 and again, bonus covered it as well. Then one of my party members called me over to help them buy an item and because my dm wasn’t liking how well things were going for some reason, made me roll with disadvantage. First try, rolled a nat 20. Second try, rolled ANOTHER NAT 20!
My dm was so frustrated at that point he made the shop keeper THROW THE ARTIFACT AT US TO WHICH I ROLLED a nat 16.
Should I make my DnD players fight Megaknight from Clash Royale ?
Ill add my own lore of course but homebrew a stat block that replicates his abilities.
He can be a rival warrior sent to intercept them.
