A challenging finds a dead person. To understand what happened, they read the notebook and discovered the person was a cleric who helped the sick and tended to the poor.

The changeling decides to impersonate the cleric, disguising as them, adopting their mannerisms, learning from their teachings. The changeling promises themselves this won’t be a permanent thing, and they’ll stop once they have completed the unfinished work. They bury the cleric and vow to continue the cleric’s work. They complete the journey and says goodbye to the old group. As the changeling returns to the temple, they are informed there’s more work to do, so they travel and meet up with a new party. The changeling overtime learns to love and cherish their new group.

The changeling helps the poor, helps people find peace and atonement, and heals the wounded/sick. They practice and preach the teachings of the cleric and their god. However… as time goes on, they begin to feel guilty for lying to their group. For lying to everyone. They hardly remembers who they used to be, nor remember when they said they would stop. Fae are tricksters but the changeling never intended to trick anyone. So in the middle of the night, they kneel before the altar saying a single prayer to the god/goddess the cleric served. The changeling tells the god everything and sobs, begging for forgiveness.

The god’s response? “Hush, my child. The cleric had no intentions to continue their work, they were far too sick to do so. You picked up their story and continued what they could not. I’m very proud of you.”

The changeling has been forgiven by their God. They just have to forgive themselves. The next morning, the changeling go to tell their party the truth. The party already knows, they found out a while ago. Just chose not to say anything.

Some really REALLY rough sketches I did of some Dwarven ladies. I’m skiiing rn and I don’t have too much time to make new content but I really liked how these looked I might add more to them later?? Not sure
