To me your most memorable writerly ability is the flow of it all and the way you give the audience information. Personality details, historical facts, fun bits, just casually slipped between the lines without making it exposition. (I'm very very behind after having been a bit sick but I remain an ardent fan.:)

Frederica is about a very bored and upright Marquess and Frederica the eldest daughter of somewhat impoverished country family and all their hijinks. It starts with Alverstoke (the Marquess) receiving unwanted guests, in the form of his sister and cousin, demanding he throw a come out ball for their daughters (with each assuming she would be the hostess of course).
He then gets a note from Frederica asking for a favor on the grounds that she’s a very distant cousin. He’s planning on refusing Frederica when her sister, who is extremely beautiful, shows up at which point he decides to throw a ball after all and invite this extremely beautiful girl who will outshine his cousin and niece and give his annoying relations their comeuppance… at which point he gets entangled with Frederica’s whole family and also falls in love with Frederica and it’s great and possibly familiar sounding if you’ve read the new Cat Sebastian book.

I don’t think so. I’ve read several very well-written gender swap fics, but not even those left me feeling one hundred percent happy with how the trope had been handled, and I doubt that I could pull it off any better.

It’s really easy to miss it because the main couple has such heavy chemistry but this guy has such a fun stealth attitude about Darcy. (And Lizzy, really, it’s shameless for the time period. It actually proves Lizzy really is into Darcy because otherwise she would have noticed.)
Lol, he really does! The Lizzy/Colonel stuff is much more obvious in the book, though. They were definitely into each other for a little bit. Sadly was cut in the miniseries for the most part.

Word. Trying to be in that mindset when I was writing this (late spring early summer) was... difficult. Dirty porn? Ugh I mean... even regular smutty stuff like Martin and Ian or Little Wolf... the last few years have made that a struggle. I just want to write people cuddling.
There is a serious lack of fighting in this story. Honestly, the one lady knight keeps wanting to fight the other knight (for this exact reason) and the other one avoids it (for sort of this reason). But it never actually happens. Sadness.
