Willy Wonka could run Aperture Science and GLaDOS could run the Chocolate Factory. And both would get an adequate amount of sadistic glee from it as their usual roles would give.

Dr Carmilla and the mechanisms?? In my academic paper??? It's more likely than you might think
Full citation below the cut
I didnt want to point it out but it drives me crqzy insane. Why. Why in cgi era can u clesrly see that diesel has a round face within the frame of his square face. I hate it. Why did they do that.
Since thinspo is apparently back in fashion (as if we didn't have enough problems, jesus christ) and I keep seeing h*roin chic bullshit all over my dash, a friendly reminder for the people who see this that the diet industry and the medical industry are preying on fat and skinny people alike, and unfortunately it is up to us, the consumer, to recognize it and respond. Medical negligence kills, and that is an objective fact whether we like it or not, made infinitely worse by diabetic drugs such as Wegovy and Ozempic being prescribed en masse for people who don't need them. This is, by definition, medical negligence. As a fat person with many fat people in my life who I love dearly, one of whom I lost recently due to medical negligence, it's frankly kind of terrifying. I have been told by multiple doctors that I should try Ozempic, despite the fact that I'm not diabetic. I'm not even pre-diabetic, I have the cholesterol of someone half my age. And yet, because I am someone who happens to exist at a size a lot of people find morally reprehensible, I'm being recommended a drug I don't need with long-term side effects we don't yet have any concept of.
My father was a diabetic, he was overweight, and he was sent home by a medical professional while in the midst of a heart attack. He was told it was acid reflux, gastritis, muscle cramps. It was only through self-advocacy by him and my mother that he was able to finally get the help he needed, from a different doctor, and receive a stint that for the moment saved his life. He died six months later, and we found out post-mortem he had a genetic heart defect. Not a single doctor ever found it. Not a single doctor was willing to look past the fact that my dad was overweight, so surely that was the root of all of his ailments. I don't know for sure if a doctor taking extra time to examine my dad earlier in his life would have saved him, but I sure as shit lay awake thinking about it.
I say this not to disparage doctors, because God knows they do more for us as a people than I could ever begin to understand, but rather to remind everyone that we as a greater society have an absolutely fucked perspective on weight, weight loss, and individual health. We are opting in to using our bodies as test subjects, and it's putting money in the pockets of businesses that couldn't care less whether it kills us. Whether you're straight-sized or fat, you have to be able to self-advocate, because in many cases it is the only way to receive the care that you need. Doctors are extremely qualified, yes, but you know your body the best. You are the person who makes the final call on what happens to it. Do not let perceived inferiority or fear of not being believed keep you from speaking up.
I'm heading out for a weekend trip, and as I was throwing away all the crumpled receipts and expired thrift store coupons in my handbag, I thought to myself, "Self, why not share a 'what's in my bag' post? Those are always weird."
So here you go. What's in my bag, weekend away edition.
