Step 1. Try on the underwear and to judge the placement and size of the cutout you want. Mark the area you'd like the cutout to be.

2. Cut a heart out of some paper (drawing a heart, folding the paper down the vertical midline, and cutting both layers at once helps to get it symmetrical)

3. Trace the shape onto the underwear, its better to trace it on the inside so that the pencil doesnt show on the outside of the finished product (but its not a big deal, u can wash it off)

4. Draw a slightly smaller heart inside the existing heart. The smaller heart will be the guidelines of where to cut.

5. Cut out the heart!

6. Take a piece of thread and lay it over the outer heart lines. mark/cut where the ends meet. This will be the rough length of wire you need.

7. Cut the wire to length. Find the middle of the wire and make a bend.

8. Using your hands or pliers, bend the metal wire into the shape of a heart thats about the same size as your drawn outer heart lines. It's normal for the wire ends to overlap. Cut them to size once your ideal shape is found.

9. Make sure the ends of the wire are not sharp. Use a file or concrete sidewalk or rock to gently dull the ends.

10. Thread your needle so that your thread is doubled over and tied at the end, creating a loop.

11. Put the needle through the fabric at the base of the V, making sure you're stabbing from the inside. Leave about an inch of extra thread at the end.

12. Without wrapping the thread around the wire, stab back through the fabric about 0.5cm away from the first needle entry point, and guide the needle through the loop at the end of the thread. Pull tight until the knot is against the fabric.

13. Fold over the edge of the fabric on the inside of the heart, to the outside of the heart, so the fabric is covering the wire.

14. While keeping the fabric folded over the wire (and prob adjusting often), sew a running stitch through both layers of fabric along the outer rim of the wire heart. (MS paint diagram below lol)

15. Continue this around the whole heart. Once you meet back up at the bottom V, tie off your thread with a double knot (making sure the knot is on the inside)

16. Visually inspect and add stitches anywhere that looks like it needs some reinforcement (usually the top middle where the wire ends meet needs a bit of help).

17. Dust off the chalk or pencil dust and try that hussy on!

I know this one isnt perfect but I made it quickly and solely for the purpose of this tutorial post, so please excuse the messy sewing lol
