Her arms stretch out to embrace him. A soft kiss to his cheek. It’s strange how oddly empty her home felt during his absence.

Grimmjow whirls around, entirely unprepared for Aizen to have been right there let alone to have heard him. Ah.

He considers his choices with the carelessness of someone who has already dug himself a grave, has never learned how to back down from a fight, and desperately would love to see Aizen stutter.

And then he bites his tongue and swallows it all down. Silent.
