Shattered Reunion--Series Finale Part. 3
The impatient Quintessons are furiously thinking on top of their temple after the defeat and death of only, loyal “daughter”, DeathScythe. The Quintessons let loose a irate grumble and taps their fingers on the pavement of the temple. The Scientist arrives nervously toward them.
“(Scientist) Y-yes, m-m-my masters, it turns out that the last of your spawns have—”
The Quintessons give the Scientist a look of fury and disappointment.
“(Scientist, gulps) What I’m trying to say—(hesitates) that the last of your s-s-spawn, DeathScythe has—”
The Quintessons curl up their fist. The Scientist gets more terrified and anxious.
“(Quintessons) Yes, we know…EXPLAIN IT MORE.”
“(Scientist) Your beloved spawn, DeathScythe—”
The Quintessons give a furious glare.
“(Scientist) Has been killed by your—former daughter…”
The Quintessons relax their angered looks to more calmer.
“(Scientist) A-Am I spared, masters?”
The Quintessons continue to glare at the Scientist.
The Scientist feels a stab on his chest and sees tentacle straight through his chest. Scientist grunts in pain as green goo leaves from his mouth and the tentacle brings him close to the multifaced monsters.
“(Quintessons) When we first told you to make soldiers to go off on a mission toward the planet Earth to do our bidding based on how we see the Cybertronians hibernating there and the human as well. Now, what were the blueprints of what our disciples to be?”
“(Scientist, gurgling) Proud, loyal, prideful, and obedient…”
“(Quintessons) EXACTLY, what were the results?”
“(Scientist) Bloodlust failed, which you blew him up, CruelGutter was too arrogant and killed himself—”
“(Quintessons) KEEP GOING.”
“(Scientist) Nocturne killed himself and DeathScythe—”
“(Quintessons) AND what DID happen to DeathScythe?”
Scientist hesitates fearfully and hyperventilates after the question.
The Quintessons bring him closer to their faces.
“(Scientist) DeathScythe—She—”
The Quintessons bring the Scientist more closer to show their irate looks.
“(Scientist) Got killed by our former flesh and blood…”
The Quintessons slowly back away from the terrified Scientist.
“(Scientist) Please, masters have mercy…”
Quintessons continues to have a glare at their failure of a Scientist. The Quintessons lifts up the wounded Scientist and slams his body, destroying completely with the Quintessons letting out a furious yell. The Scientist is now splattered mess with his eye dangling from the head.
“(Quintessons) So close, so close…WE WERE SO CLOSE ON CONQUERORING THE FLITH-RIDDEN CYBERTRONIAN, HUMAN INFESTED WASTE OF PLANET!”
“(Quintessons) And now our children are dead! SUCH A TRAGEDY!”
“(Quintessons) There is no tragedy beyond this!
“(Quintessons) Please, may we calm down in this situation?”
“(Quintessons) WHY SHOULD WE CALM DOWN IN TIME’S LIKE THIS!! OUR BLOODLINE IS GONE, OUR TRAITOUS FAILURE OF A DAUGHTER IS OUT AND ABOUT WITH A BUNCH OF MISCREANTS AND EVERYTHING THAT WE PLANNED OUT IS FALLING RIGHT IN FRONT OF US!!”
“(Quintessons) Well, failure is not option…we still can have the final propositions for our upscale invasion…”
“(Quintessons) What do you have in mind?”
“(Quintessons) Set out a full-scale assault, think first, then do the task…”
“(Quintessons) Not quite bad…”
“(Quintessons) WE WOULD START THINKING?? I SAY WE SHOULD STRIKE RIGHT AWAY!”
“(Quintessons) Then we’ll lose confidence and focus on subject instead of what’s our true target for us…”
“(Quintessons) Curious…this will also help for our full-scale invasion against those accursed Autobots and Decepticons…”
“(Quintessons) But HOW exactly do we plan it?”
“(Quintessons) Simple, we find the most populated of human species around the planet. First, we show our announce for our assault and ask them to leave before we show our dominance as Quintessons.”
“(Quintessons) ONE FLAW, there are hundreds and hundreds of human species around the dirt planet of Earth! How can do this work while the flesh species can see us? They can easily call out the Autobots to stop us and we’ll defeated right away! So, I say I dissent!”
“(Quintessons) You may have a point…”
“(Quintessons) See? I’m right!”
“(Quintessons) But not quite…”
“(Quintessons) We may have one for one shot of being defeated by the likes of the Autobots in this battle. Yet, I have other ideas…”
The Quintessons’ faces listen to the face with impressed looks.
“(Quintessons) For my own idea of assault. We are planning on going incognito, as disguising ourselves in the sky on top of the planet. So to be sure no one notices us…”
The other faces mumble in agreement.
“(Quintessons) I still won’t agree…”
The other faces scowl at the passive-aggressive one.
“(Quintessons) It’s only an opinion that makes it right! All of yours are simply ridiculous!”
“(Quintessons) You may think that…but we have a goal to settle…if you think that this only matters to you then we all love to see your reaction when those accursed Autobots defeat us in the next hour or so…if we want to go with your plan, fine…don’t even bother start blabbing on your explanation on why we lost…it’s your choice…”
“(Quintessons) Oh my! That was a pleasant lecture on your stupidity!”
The passive-aggressive one grunts in anger and thinks.
“(Quintessons) Excellent! That’s what we like to hear…”
“(Quintessons) So, then it’s settled!”
“(Quintessons) Excellent, all those in favor…”
The passive-aggressive one looks at the other agreeable faces.
“(Quintessons) Last warning…do you agree?”
Passive-aggressive grunts in anger.
“(Quintessons) FINE! I. AGREE.”
“(Quintessons) Then it’s settled…now, let the process commence…”
“(Quintessons) OH! We are going to love to see our daughter again!”
“(Quintessons) SHE WAS NEVER OUR DAUGHTER!!”
“(Quintessons) But we miss her though!”
The Quintessons squiggle through a gigantic warship with their henchmen and Scientists building its features with Terror-Dwellers helping them with the construction equipment.
“(Quintessons) How are the presagers?”
“(Scientist) 98% complete, my masters. The ship will be ready soon as you know it…”
“(Quintessons) How’s our battle stances?”
“(Scientists) Highly advanced.”
“(Quintessons) Excellent…”
“(Quintessons) LET THERE BE BLOODSHED…SHOW NO MERCY NO MATTER WHAT AGE OF HUMANS.”
“(Quintessons) Well, technically—actually not bad idea! The parental figures are worshipping the children with surprises and gifts. But who cares! Violence is natural!”
“(Quintessons) BOTH OF YOU. Focus. Now, there is no time to squabble. Our hatred of human but equate with Autobots and Decepticons. YET, we created them to be natural, but they started wars and cause destruction!”
“(Quintessons) And those Autobots boast about “freedom of all sentient beings…” (scoffs)
An henchmen looks at his tablet as it chimes and walks to their multifaced masters.
“(Quintesson Henchmen) My lords, the ship is 100% you will now activate its programming. It’s ready to patrol outer space…”
“(Quintessons) Perfect timing…”
“(Quintessons) YES, YES! MORE CHAOS, MORE BLOOD! LET’S DO THIS!”
“(Quintessons) Oh, hush now…”
“(Quintessons) This is why you don’t shut your mouth!”
The Quintessons squiggle toward their intergalactic warship.
EXT. QUINTESSON WARSHIP COCKPIT
The Quintessons squiggle up the stairs where their henchman are operating on computer monitors. They squiggle up a hair reminiscent of a King’s throne. The Quintessons sit on it, and their eyes glow green as everything around the ship is activated from their powers.
“(Quintessons) Set a course for Earth…”
“(Quintessons) Let those know our fury…”
The ground starts to rumble as the ship separates itself from the ground as it lifts itself up to the dark sky and travels throughout space up to the depths of the Milky Way.
QUINTESSON WARSHIP COCKPIT
“(Quintessons) Once we find our daughter, BlackHeart we will show those fools what it means to steal something away from us and show no mercy…”
The warship travels across the galaxy as it reaches through the Milky Way.
EXT. MCCALYN HOUSE-EVENING
“(Sarah, voiceover) I simply cannot take this anymore, Cullen! I just don’t know how to deal with him now!”
“(Cullen, voiceover) Maybe we should talk to him more, settle things out.”
Brent is sitting alone on his bed hearing the argument outside of his bedroom.
“(Sarah, voiceover) SETTLE THINGS OUT??!! Why would we think that we should settle thing out while our teenage son acts like some psychopath!”
Brent turns on his phone and scrolls through names from his phone app until he goes to Marry’s name.
“(Sarah, voiceover) Did you know what he did last night at Lu Li’s house? He interrupted our reunion with Agent Wagner and Dave and went a STUPID tirade on how we should raise kids!”
“(Cullen, voiceover) Look, I know he’s been struggling with his emotions recently since Brian came back and he’s not doing a very good job at being a good role model for him since.”
Brent presses on Marry’s phone number and the phone begins to call her.
“(Sarah, voiceover) And what have you been doing, huh? You been lecturing Brian on how not to be difficult on your son while you act difficult towards me I mean—”
“(Sarah) How does that going to help with me while our son is acting like a psychopath! I mean—I mean we should put him in a mental asylum if he acts up—along with his grandfather!”
Cullen breathes in and out.
“(Cullen) Look, we’re all trying our best to survive this dysfunctional household, but you need to understand that he’s your son! It’s his GRANDFATHER on how he handles him. He’s giving him the bad advice to Brent! Just last week Brian told him to punch himself in the face to prevent him to be overemotional! Do you understand where I’m coming from?”
“(Sarah) Yeah, I understand. I’m understanding that I’m STUCK IN THIS NEVERENDING HELL HOLE OF A FAMILY!! GOD! You know why I had to marry you! To get my mind OFF of Cain’s stupid antics even though how much of a pig he was! I’m stuck between taming our grandfather and my—psychopath son of made! It makes regret meeting Cain 30 years ago!”
Sarah turns around and pinches on the top of her nose and grunts in frustration.
“(Sarah) I-I’m sorry you had to hear that…It’s has been hell for past two years…”
Sarah sighs aggressively, behind her Cullen gets idea.
“(Cullen) Wait, Brian is Cain’s dad, right?”
“(Sarah) Yes, like I haven’t been told that a HUNDRED times.”
“(Cullen) So, since we already know about his grandfather but what about his grandMOTHER?”
“(Sarah, sighs) So, you want to know?”
“(Cullen) Yeah! D-does he have one?”
“(Sarah) She—we forbid her from coming back…”
“(Sarah) She and Brian had a fallout years ago. This is what Cain told before he died. They couldn’t stand each other, blaming one another, shouting at each other, which would explain his countless berating toward Brent.”
“(Cullen) Well, maybe we can give her a call! A quick hello! Maybe, patch up some wounds…”
“(Sarah) I don’t think that’ll work…”
“(Cullen) Look, this is our chance to fix up this family! Maybe Brian can show some empathy with her!”
Sarah somberly thinks for herself for a minute and lets out a sigh.
“(Sarah) Okay…okay fine…I know I shouldn’t do this…but I must…”
Sarah brings down a box of memorabilia of Cain’s things dated 1985-1989 and hands them to Cullen.
“(Cullen) How long Cain had this..?”
Cullen opens its lid showing, a bounce ball, a Rubik’s cube, a small toy plane, and a note of phone numbers revealing someone named Debera with her phone number.
“(Sarah) JUST CALL HER OR GO TO HER ADDRESS! I DON’T WANT TO BE PART OF IT.”
Sarah walks away frustrated leaving Cullen alone as he examines the note.
“(Cullen) Alright, Debera maybe you can patch things up a little. Brent needs this.
INT. BRENT’S BEDROOM-EVENING
“(Brent, talking to the phone) Look, I just need your help on how handle this BS! I’m trapped with a tyrannical fossil who was worse than my dad!”
“(Marry, voiceover) That was grandpa and dad for ya…”
Marry is sitting on her college bed with her laptop.
“(Marry) They flip out when things don’t go their way.”
“(Brent, voiceover) Look, Marry I need you help me out with this! I think you’re the one to help me get me out of this! I mean you’re A+ student, right?”
“(Marry) Can it wait? I have to find the classes for my next semester. It’s taking forever to load from the stupid internet traffic! But, I’ll have the time to listen, spill it.”
“(Brent) I just your help…I overheard my parents or Sarah and Cullen bragging about how to get me out of this hellish, hell-cycle of this stupid house! I think it’s going to do with grandpa’s relationship with grandma.”
“(Marry, voiceover) WAIT, THEY’RE TRYING TO GET GRANDMA?”
“(Brent) Yeah? You know about it?”
“(Marry) Yeah, that makes her a bastard! She never even bothered to see me develop up to where I am now! I even try to forget you guys exist while I was studying for exams!”
“(Brent) Look, Marry I need you focus. Things are not doing well for me…I just—(sighs) I just your advice on how to handle this…”
“(Marry) Here’s my advice; GET OVER IT. I’m happy at college, you got Cullen on your side. Like I got Samantha and Sam!
Samantha and Sam kiss each other next to Marry.
“(Marry) Don’t let those bastards get what’s the best of you. Cain won’t hurt you anymore…so, let’s talk about more positive topics, or something else you wanna to chat…”
“(Brent) Why did he treated you like a golden child and giving you good advice and treated me like dirt and did nothing to defend me…”
Marry leaves a blank expressionless look after his question.
“(Marry) Um…what’s that? Uh, sorry Brent! M-my girlfriend is texting me! Okay, gotta go! Bye now!”
“(Brent) Uh, Marry…Marry?, oh, great…”
Brent puts his phone on his pocket and looks on the setting sun. Brent is exhausted and depressed.
“(Brent, scoffs) Dad, grandpa? And now they want grandma to join in? Let’s see that’ll be the day…”
RETIREMENT HOME APARTMENT
Kiki Tomoiya and Cullen wait in front of a room labeled “984”. Kiki has her arms crossed, unimpressed.
“(Kiki) I can’t believe you dragged me here…”
“(Cullen) Your mom wants you to be part of his journey to get Brent fixed up…”
“(Kiki) And how’s that going?”
“(Kiki) And…who’s fault that??”
“(Cullen) Kiki, look if we get this one more chance to bring her back into his life then maybe, then maybe. His life will be better for worse…”
Kiki scoffs. Cullen knocks on the door, the door opens revealing an elderly woman with golden, curly hair.
“(Cullen) Hey are you “Debera McCalyn?” husband of Brian McCalyn and mother of Cain McCalyn?”
Debera gives an unimpressed look.
“(Debera, faking) Never heard of him…”
Debera closes her door, but Cullen’s right leg stops in-between.
“(Cullen) Look, I know you don’t want to talk about this but your grandson, Brent is having issues at home with your husband, Brian—”
“(Debera) I was never married, and I never had any kids…So, are you bothering me about this?”
“(Kiki, groans) We just need your help! Your kid is going off the deep-end and your husband is allowing it! Can’t you just care about his—like mental health right now?”
“(Debera) Well, I say it’s not my problem because I never had a husband and children in my life and I’m glad I had any now!”
“(Kiki) Really? What would you make of this!”
Kiki shoves Cain’s toy airplane in front of Debera and makes her gasp after seeing it and lets out a defeated sigh.
“(Debera) Okay, you got me, you had me, you caught me. I was just playing an act…”
“(Kiki) But why would you play an act at times like this? He needs you!”
“(Debera) I already know about Brent…”
“(Debera) Yeah, I already know he much of pain he was…it reminded me how my moron husband, Brian handled our no-good son, Cain when I was HIS parent.”
“(Cullen) I don’t understand, Debera! Why don’t you want to see your grandson again? Wasn’t it devastating how your son, Cain died from the Decepticons?”
“(Debera) He did that to himself, spare me my tears…”
“(Kiki) Man, you guys are terrible…what could’ve Cain done that you that way?”
Debera leaves an irritated look after hearing that question.
“(Debera) Do you know for the past 27 years I had to deal with Brian’s nonsense, Cain’s stupidity…now recently, my own grandson is doing the same thing that my idiot son did! Now, you people are making to come back to HELL I went through. No one told me how to parent! Me and Brian were out and about, messing around and I got forced into this!”
Kiki and Cullen leave surprised looks after her rant.
“(Debera) But I can stay here and rant and rave in front of you two. I have no time for this, tell my grandson and my husband to forget about it! Tell Sarah I have no time for mourning that delinquent I made…I NEVER WANT TO SEE HIS NOR MY STUPID GRANDSON’S FACE EVER AGAIN, ALRIGHT? NOW, GET OUT!”
“(Cullen) Wait, Debera maybe we can help—”
Cullen gives a defeated look after the outburst.
Cullen and Kiki leave the room and close the door (offscren). Debera sits on her couch, opening up her mini-flask and drinks alcohol. Debera looks like Cain’s toy airplane and leaves a somber look and picks it up.
EXT. MCCALYN HOUSEHOLD 1987-DAY
An frustrated and angry Brian is looking at Cain’s report card as they are labelled C-D from different subjects. Debera pours alcohol on her glass with a cigarette on her mouth.
“(Brian) Such an idiot, can you believe this?!”
“(Debera) Hey, they look pretty fine to me…”
“(Brian) That boy doesn’t what he’s doing! He only cares about his vinyl collecting and other garbage!”
“(Debera) OH! Won’t you give it a rest a little! He likes what he likes!”
“(Brian) It’s too late to defend him, Debera! His antics has gone too far! When he comes home I’m going to give him a piece of my mind—”
The door opens (offscreen)
“(Cain, offscreen) I’m home!”
Cain walks to where Brian and Debera are.
“(Brian) If it ain’t the moron of the hour!”
“(Brian) I got your report card today at the mail and I’m not surprised…”
“(Debera) Oh, just get over yourself…”
“(Brian) STAY OUT OF THIS.”
“(Brian) SO? I was suspected some intelligence something like brings you into MIT or Harvard…but it makes me remember you’re not fond of any that…”
“(Cain) That’s because they’re filled bookworms and nerds and full of suckers, dad!”
“(Brian) Of course, you say that a lot, moron…then let’s let see your theory is true. Math and Science, D-, Writing, C, Reading, D, Social Studies, C+, Gym…is that even a course?, D+…”
Brian slams down the report card in anger.
“(Brian, furious) EM…BARASSING…”
“(Cain) Okay, so I did pretty alright things…I’m just not interested in all of that!”
“(Brian) NO EXCUSE! Do you think that you with those delinquent rockstars will help to be better! THEY ARE NOT. They’re animals! You act one yourself!”
“(Cain) That’s my only goal, Dad! Can you at least back me up?”
“(Brian) Like what? You being an idiot, causing mischief here and at school? Yeah, I’ll support you alright!”
“(Cain, grunts in frustration) I can’t stand this pressure!”
“(Brian) Don’t you begin crying, kid! You always put us into this and made our name a stain in public. Humiliating, isn’t it? Maybe if you acted normal we’ve wouldn’t be here!”
Brian notice small tears in Cain’s eyes.
“(Brian) THAT’S IT. Go to your room, I have no time to reason with snowflakes!”
Cain grunts in sadness/anger and walks up to his room.
The sympathic Debera looks at the toy airplane Cain had when he was young.
Debera continues to look at the toy as tears show up in her eyes and cries hysterically as she misses him…
