So. It's been a wild few weeks. But basically on July 15th, this blog got nuked thanks to that stupid "I submitted you to Tumblr for termination, contact me to view the support ticket" thing that's been happening to a ton of people. I created a backup account, @pennywaltzy, which I will keep just in case something like this ever happens again, and I made a new help post there. Fortunately this blog got reinstated and so I am very thankful for that.
I'm pretty much copy/pasting the post on my backup blog, but I really need help. I managed to get the laptop issue I had sorted, and then I had to pay for two bills I hadn't expected which wiped out the money I had raised to put towards the repair, and the next payment of one of those bills (my mom's car insurance) was due yesterday, and that bill was $57. We need to pay that so I can upgrade our insurance to comply with California's driving laws as well as $14 to reinstate my mother's drivers license once I get our insurance upgraded
My daughter has three appointments next week in three different cities (all three trips are less than 40 mile round trips, so I need to raise around $240 for the three of them...one is a rheumatology appointment so we can get Lena on a better arthritis med, one is her therapy appointment, and the third is the root canal appointment that had to wait two months because the original dentist died).
I also need a little bit of help for food before the 1st. Not much there, maybe $40. My GERD is acting up and I'm having trouble eating some of the stuff in the apartment.
So I'm aiming to try and get $325 to cover all of this stuff for now. I have other stuff that needs to get covered, including potentially trying to raise thousands of dollars for my Uncle David's cremation, as my mother was quoted it would cost $8,000 and we currently have no idea if the VA is stepping in to cover costs and inter him at a military cemetery. But for now, I need at least $80 by tomorrow the 20th for my daughter's rheumatologist appointment. Thank you all so much.
i know its been a few weeks since we last updated about my girlfriends cat; we're both disabled, self employed and low income, and shes already trying desperately to scrape enough to move from somewhere too expensive and inaccessible for her as a wheelchair user. to reiterate this cat had been left in her mothers care, who has ignored extreme symptoms such as blood in urine and actively hid this until she came to visit. we were able to get her in again today, they said shes got a growth/misshape in her kidney area which needs an exam. whether its cancerous or not is a factor- if it comes to it shes looking into rehoming, euthanasia, and some emergency grants. but at the moment, even accessing aid like that depends on knowing the problem, which means she needs to pay for these exams first, a total atm of $435

I'm a disabled enby and I take care of my elderly mother. We're Homeless and unexpected expenses[aka my financially abusive sister] wiped out a huge chunk of her SSI which is our only stable income at the moment.
This left us in an unsafe situation that I was able to get us out of but unfortunately it took another big chunk of money to get us safe. I've got us in a room at Motel 6 but I was only able to pay for one night.

We're both disabled and cannot be on the streets, she can barely walk from arthritis and has severe chronic bronchitis and I have asthma, arthritis and an autoimmune disorder.

My boyfriend Z and I are still trying to move on from the domestic violence situation we dealt with last year with his ex. We’ve been working to get our feet under us, and the best thing for us now is to move to another place.
Due to complications from the COVID Z's ex gave us in 2024, we’re no longer physically capable of completing the move ourselves. We’re selling most of our furniture, but we still need help with what we must keep.

$1,000 - To hire movers. Z and I are both physically disabled after Z's ex gave us COVID in 2024, destroying our bodies and exacerbating the chronic illnesses we already had. Based on the cost of labor in 2022 when Z first moved to our current house, it was about $500 per team, and it may take multiple teams or excessive costs for one team to both load and unload the truck. We will be moving VERY far from our current location, possibly out of state.
$500 - A rough estimate to renting a U-Haul for the distance required.
$750- Estimated cost to disconnect and reconnect our heat pump.

I suffer from stage 4 deep infiltrating diaphragmatic endometriosis. A painful condition where tissue grows inside the body where it shouldn’t. Due to my severe case it has spread and is now affecting other organs, causing constant chronic pain and further damage to my body.
My dream has always been to become an art educator. But with my very steep decline I have had to put my dreams on hold. Endometriosis affects my everyday life. I struggle to walk, function, or get through normal daily tasks without pain.
