Me when my disability is disabling:
The audacity. Imagine my shock.

Happy disability pride month \(*^-^*)/
"You drive that thing so well!"
"Do you have a license to drive that?"
"You drive that better than I drive my car!"
"Don't drink and drive in that thing!"
Seriously do not say these things to a wheelchair user. We've heard them a million times. Its not funny and its just very annoying
my (physical) disabilities ranked by how actually disabling they are
visual snow syndrome: 0/10, mine is pretty mild so i still have better than 20/20 vision, it’s just kinda staticky over my vision at all times. plus the floaters are like lil buddies :)
tendon misalignment in my shoulders: 2/10, doesnt really affect anything as far as im aware, i just gotta stretch em every day to make sure i don’t get frozen shoulder
raynauds syndrome: 3/10, usually just annoying at worst, though gets points for making my fingers feel like they got set on fire when it’s cold out and making it possible for literally anything to get pins and needles
shiver tics: 3/10, the worst they do is make people look at me weird or make me drop something. idk what theyre connected to tho
dermatillomania: 5/10, not actually a physical disability but since it affects my physical body im including it. i have a lotttt of acne and blister scars from the countless times where i couldnt abide by a texture on my skin, plus a spot on my lip that has a near-permanent split
dyspraxia: 6/10, made my motor skills develop wayyy late, sometimes i still can’t open water bottles, have to take time to distinguish left from right which doesn’t work well while trying to learn how to drive, fuckin annoying on its own but also gave me the next item on this list
nerve damage: 7/10 OW OW OW OW OW. when i get flare ups i literally cannot do anything with either hand for a few days or else PAIN. its worst when i try to pick something up that requires both stretching of the hand and a grip, like a computer or cup
POTS and endometriosis: in the same category bc im undiagnosed for both but i have some really strong suspicions, plus they both (or just one, idk yet) have similar effects on me: 8/10 fucking bastard disability. i gray out every time i stand up too fast and my periods are crippling, plus doctors can’t/wont do shit about it bc most don’t listen to trans people and im pretty sure scientists still don’t know what even causes endometriosis. i have to use a folding cane if im on my period bc the cramps get too bad to stand normally
