I usually save these for the end of the year but I need to share a clip of a video from a concert I went to last night because I had such a good time and this band is so wild and fun.

This is Dirtwire. They describe themselves as "back-porch space cowboy blues, swamptronica, and electro-twang." They were genre bending and played an array of instruments from the violin, guitar, drums, and banjo to mouth harps, Mbira, Kamale Ngonis, and a theremin to name a few.

"Dirtwire" is a foundational album, rustic and atmospheric, mixing traditional instruments from various latitudes with experimental electronics. More than an album of songs, it's a sonic map of contemporary miscegenation, where blues, southwestern Usamerican music, indigenous music and tribal electronics coexist in the same ritual space. It goes very well with any cozy indie game.
