These delicious dumplings are a classic dim sum favorite. Filled with a flavorful pork and cabbage mixture, they are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Perfect for a homemade dim sum feast!
Ingredients: 1 cup ground pork. 1 cup finely chopped cabbage. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 1 tablespoon ginger, minced. 2 green onions, finely chopped. 2 tablespoons soy sauce. 1 tablespoon sesame oil. 1 teaspoon sugar. 1/2 teaspoon salt. 1/4 teaspoon black pepper. 1 package round dumpling wrappers. Water for sealing. Vegetable oil for frying.
Instructions: In a large bowl, combine ground pork, chopped cabbage, minced garlic, minced ginger, chopped green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, salt, and black pepper. Mix the filling ingredients thoroughly until well combined. Place a dumpling wrapper in the palm of your hand and spoon about 1 tablespoon of the filling into the center of the wrapper. Dip your finger in water and wet the edge of the wrapper. Fold the wrapper in half, creating a half-moon shape, and press the edges together to seal the dumpling. You can also use pleating techniques if desired. Repeat the process with the remaining wrappers and filling. Heat a skillet or non-stick pan over medium-high heat and add a generous amount of vegetable oil. Once the oil is hot, add the dumplings in a single layer, making sure they are not touching each other. Fry the dumplings until the bottoms turn golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Add 1/4 cup of water to the skillet and immediately cover it with a lid to steam the dumplings for about 5 minutes or until the wrappers become translucent. Remove the lid and let the dumplings cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the bottoms are crispy again. Transfer the dumplings to a serving plate. Serve hot with dipping sauces of your choice.
