(MARY’s brain: Sam thinks I don't know basic stuff, and he's phrasing it just so, to couch it in pep-talk. Great.)

The fun thing is: he's TRYING to be nice. He's actually TRYING too, to impress her. (It isn't working, Sammy. Abort! Abort!)

Honestly, I think Mary (like Jack) would've taken it a lot better if Sam just said, "You sucked, Mom. Actually." Pffft.

She is sooo tired by the end of this, of how Sam AND Dean are sucking up. Pfft.

Aside// I love how the dark parallel with baby Sam's cries luring her to her death. It was his cry that first alerted her on the baby monitor. She believes in the best of this little spirit, the way she believes it's not her baby's fault.
