Aww, sorry to hear about the dive difficulties but I know you'll get there! And yes! Hound of the Baskervilles was the first one I read as a kid! But I love them all, my favorites are when he's straight up clowning Lestrade or Gregson or Athelny Jones hehe. RDJ absolutely nailed the character! Hell, Jude Law, too! Was nice to finally see a fighting fit Watson n not a fat old pipe smoker lol. He was a friggin military doctor, how did so many directors/actors get that so wrong?!
Hi! Thank you so much and sorry for the late response! I've been away from Tumblr!
RDJ is actually quite good as Sherlock! I know some people didn't like his portrayal that much only cause RDJ is American (like my boyfriend 🫣😅), but I thought he did a damn good job and made the character his own and when it comes to Sherlock, that is not an easy task to do!
So, I definitely add RDJ to my favourite Sherlock's list!
My other favourites are Benedict Cumberbatch as the modern Sherlock and of course, Jeremy Brett as the closest to the books Sherlock! I haven't watched the oldest adaptions yet, but I do plan to :) I know they are also very much close to the books! I adore the books and could re-read them all the time!
My least favourite "Sherlock" though, is The elementary. I tried to watch a few episodes, but just couldn't get into it. Like Johnny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu in other projects, but in this I just found them really boring and idk if the casting was wrong or the scripts were just dull or whatnot, but that is my least favourite Sherlock! 😅
As for Watson, yes you are right! Not sure why in some they've made him so unfit? Perhaps because he's a retired doctor? Maybe that's why? I agree that it was refreshing to see someone like Jude Law as the slender Watson. However, one of my favourite Watsons is also Martin Freeman! Think, he was very believable as a retired army doctor!
