I keep thinking about this part among others and maybe a more cleaned up translation will come along (this is based on the ones we got) but--
For the longest, people have wondered about the whole "everyone gets a Digimon eventually" path that the 02 finale showed. More in terms of the Chosen Child/Digidestined terminology and the question of, well, if everyone gets the thing, then nobody is special, right? (Special = Chosen Child/Digidestined.)
But then Kakudou approaches that so simple in linguistic terms. (My interest~)
Everyone knows who Taichi, Daisuke and co. are--their appeal to society as a whole is prevalent. (Still thinking about the whole Stingmon thing that Ken correctly guesses as the possible actual reason for his new job as a cop/detective.) But if everyone has a Digimon, then Beyond says that the terms should get updated. If everyone is special, then everyone is a "Partner Human."
At the risk of sounding cringe, it's just so egalitarian 🤌
A simple solution to a decades-long question lol. And it keeps in line with the "partner" terminology used since Adventure, of course.
Really also just...creates a very normal situation where now old terms become part of history, and now future generations may even approach it the way terms are nowadays. Studied or argued about. (Boy, sure hope social media is better over there. DigiDestined Discourse XD)
