Repost @the_sunkissed_kitchen - I've been thinking a lot about food these past few weeks (well, I always think about food.. But in a different way) . I've become increasingly interested in how your emotional state while eating affects how your body reacts to it...and how a highly strung person drinking a green smoothie differs from a calm and happy person drinking a coke.. (obviously there's all sorts of variables... Such as the coke producing affects in your brain that may counter that calm feeling..but if someone truly believes a coke is healthy for them, how the body reacts in comparison to someone who drinks that coke and feels guilty about it fascinates me..) . I always eat whole plant foods.. But I try to make sure I'm calm and in a good place mentally when I do. . The effects of stress (any type, guilt, shame, urgency, anxiety, etc) on digestion, microbiome, and weight management is something I'm increasingly interested in. .
