answer for this post FYI: I'm going to answer just the ship that I shipped

so, padlock is start from they are just 2 teachers (before kickstarter to fund new episode) so they got paired together. So, they kind of one part that keep fandom alive enough to make kickstarter success

now to the real chemistry concept

for the teacher, I see like use their topic mixed with the concept that they show in their ep then made it into concept (like literal concept of each topic, that why I called them "embodiment of" their topic ...because that who they are)

then use their concept to see their chemistry and based their relationship and interaction around it! like how the real concept would

like creative and time ... the best way to spend your time is use it creatively or do creative things, so yeah Tony like sketch book

and come up with something creative need time, so sketch book like Tony too

for shrignold x warren mostly because they are both 2 only bug in the show and their concept is " love and friendship " which usually go along with each other as a pair (if you trust the concept of god send the special one just for you then what is suitable for the concept of love more than concept of friendship ...so warren is for shirgnold as the "special one"

but his attitude is bad? well, god job is only to send them- )

but their dynamic as the sugar coat cult leader and egoistic incel .... their mind game is so delicious ... they are like:

and they will attach each other in the first place

Warren wants someone who seems care about him like shignold (which is cult tactic) and Shrignold want to lure someone lost and insecure like warren ... he is cult victim type (also you can give many dynamics for them)

Colin and Steak guy because the concept of media consumption

You see, in ep 4 Colin is the ultimate distractor and the thing that he do is literally social media (even it supposed to be about computer but he is focusing on the aspect of social media)... his main purpose is to make the user to stay in his space as long as possible like how he traps yellow and duck into his endless loop song and faster every time like how social media kill your attention span... and ad! oat ad everywhere! He literally tries to gaslight them that "the thing that they want to find" is the oat commercial instead of their main goal is to find the biggest thing in the world-

now to steak guy, an episode about consumption and you can literally see that they are force feeding the thing that they want the trio ...or the audience to believe, no matter how it absurd or wrong it is

and when they together they create a surprisingly good for them but CANCER TOXIC to anyone else- relationship

social media as a platform promotes stuff for product and digital way is the fastest way to promoted so steak like Colin

and server need a profit that gets from the ad and user consuming to survive so Colin like steak

they are each other best option and they both accept each other the way they are (if you want to see the contrast we need to talk about the relationship of colin and other concepts example like doomscroll, parasocial relationship ... I think you can get it what their relationship was like)

and the last one that I want to mention for now and really show how the ship was made from a crumb is Lamp (dreams) and Michael (Loneliness) which I love to call them " daydream " because their dynamic is literally daydreaming

In the ep 3 about the story of Michael their main key is " Everyone has a special one " of Couse everyone got their own ideal partner, everyone can dream! ...you know those cliché "girl of my dreams"

Everybody has desire and it will be even stronger when they lack of it (like drive-reduction theory) and that is when they are lonely

" And you can have a dream about having a special one " because you can dream about ANYTHING even the thing that impossible to get

so, dream is only special one that he can get when live on his own, lonely and desperate

loneliness made you daydream as a coping mechanism

I don't need to tell why Michael (loneliest boy) love lamp (dream) because I bet everyone already see the " lonely person fantasy about a dreamy divine being who love them " trope and "imaginary partner" and how it trends to repeat so many time

and loneliness is the only thing that desperate enough to blindly obsessed in something that not real like dreams
