Walking into the abandoned cabin, you and Riley went ahead, Mac and Bozer brining in Dezzie. You and Riley quickly cleared the couch, ignoring the pain in your side, and they set her down as she let out a groan. ‘I’m gonna check the bathroom for supplies.’ You said, not getting an answer back you moved and searched the rooms, hoping to find the bathroom. Walking into the bathroom, you closed the door over heading towards the sink, you flung open the doors and searched anything that could be used, finding nothing, you stood up and searched through the top cabinets, letting out a small cheer when you found tampons that had probably been left behind by the previous owners. You quickly grabbed onto the packet and pulled one out. Undoing the cover, you lifted your top and turned around, so you could see your back in the mirror before pushing it into the whole. You clenched your jaw and hide a groan as you placed it in before lowering your top down, hoping it will do. ‘I’ve got tampons.’ You announced as you entered the living room, Mac’s hand came out immediately and took it as you and him, unwrapped them so he could place them on. 'Eight hours till exile.' Riley said, Mac continued to wipe Dezzie head clear of sweat, as you sat as comfortable as you could get but gave up before and stood up. 'I'll go get some wood.' You said as you noticed the wood was getting low. Pulling on a jacket you opened the door and stepped out, wincing as your wound pulled. Looking around the front of the house, you searched for an axe, finding it sitting at the bottom of the stairs, you picked it up, placing it on your shoulder before venturing out into the woods nearby. Walking across the small field to the woods, you started swinging at a tree, the wound in your side screaming, but that quickly stopped when you noticed a light shine behind you, before switching off. You lowered the axe and turned around slowly. You were quickly lifted up and flung into the tree trunk, letting go of the axe’s handle it disappeared from your sight, as you collapsed to your knees, trying to get air into your lungs. A large pair of hands wrapped around the edge of the jacket and pulled you up. Focussing on the man in front of you, you slowly undid the zip in the front, glad that it was too big for you. Slipping out from it almost comedically, you crouched as you landed and managed to get through his legs before he could catch up with you, when he turned around you flung your fist forward, it connected with his chin, as his head was flung backwards, you stuck a foot out under his feet causing him to lose balance. He fell backwards and landed in the snow, you watched for a second before quickly heading back the way you came, using the footsteps that were already there. When you heard some movement and groaning behind you, you glanced over your shoulder and noticed him getting up, for some reason you froze as he looked around, hoping that he wouldn’t see you but he did and swore under your breath, before turning to him completely. 'You've got to be kidding me.' You groaned, so you glanced towards the axe and so did he, before you both ran towards it. You pushed through the pain before leaping and getting it. You steadied it in your hands as you silently challenged him to come forwards. 'What happened to you?' Bozer asked when you entered the building quickly, shutting the door and trying to catch your breath, pointing behind you. 'We've got company.' Mac said from the window, you nodded and held your side taking a deep breath. ‘I managed to take one down, but I think there’s two jeeps.’ You informed them, then Mac went into work mode and asked for items which you all gladly gave him. 'Where you going?' Mac questioned as you headed the other direction. 'Don't worry I'll see you at the debrief.' You said, he looked at you before nodding as he joined Bozer and Riley. You quickly walked the halls, knowing it like the back of your hand, getting light headed the further you walked but as everyone walked past, you gave them a smile, but it was probably more of a grimace. 'What can I help you with?' A nurse asked when you pushed open the door, clutching onto your side now. 'Mission gone wrong.' You said, raising your top allowing her to see the stab wound to your back, she gasped and guided you to a seat as she called over people. 'Where's Y/N?' Matty questioned, they shrugged their shoulders. 'She said she'd be here.' Mac said, she then turned to Riley, who was already getting her tablet out of her bag. 'Riley.' Matty said, they all turned and watched her type on the computer. 'On it.' She typed for a few more seconds before sitting up straight. 'She's been taken into surgery.' Riley said. 'What?' The three of them said at the same time, watching her as she read through the paperwork. 'Report says, puncture wound to the left-hand side.' She listed off. ‘Severe blood loss.’ Riley said, the shock on their faces was exchanged for confusion before they all quickly turned and headed down to the medical wing, where they waited for you and Dezzie. 'Hey roomie.' You heard a familiar voice; you turned to your right and saw Dezzie lying in the bed adjacent to yours. You gave her a peace sign as she laughed a little. 'Doctors said you were badly hurt.' Dezzie informed you, you waved your hand dismissing it. 'It was nothing.' You said. 'It wasn't nothing.' Matty said as she walked into the room, the team behind her. Your eyes widened slightly. ‘Three inch puncture wound, severe blood loss.’ Matty listed everything off, you rolled your eyes. 'I’m here aren't I?' You motioned to yourself. 'You could've died.' Mac stated. 'But I didn't.' You snapped and that finished the conversation, they looked at you for a while before nodding and moving over to Dezzie leaving you alone for a while. 'I think I need to go on leave Matty.' You admitted, she looked at you concerned. 'You okay?' She questioned, you shrugged your shoulders. 'Yeah, I just need some time away everything's becoming numb.' You explained to her, she walked over and placed the tablet down. 'How long do you need?' She asked, you looked up at the room before turning back to her. 'I have no idea.' You said honestly, she nodded. 'Okay.' She agreed, you smiled at her. 'If you need me for a VIP case then call.' You said, she nodded 'Aren't we one person short?' Bozer pointed out, Matty nodded. 'Yes and you will be for the foreseeable future.' She informed them, not giving them much information, they looked between the four of them confused. 'Is everything okay?' Bozer questioned as Mac, sat silently playing with paperclips that were sitting in front of him. You heard the door get chapped and you placed your shirt on the bed and walked over. Twisting the handle you opened the door to reveal a concerned looking Mac. 'What are you doing here?' You asked shocked to see him. 'Coming to see you.' He said, you narrowed your eyes slightly before opening the door for him to come in. As he stepped in, he noticed a few bags lying around, you shut the door before walking past him into your bedroom. Mac followed closely behind, stopping at the door as not to intrude. He crossed his arms over his chest, leaned against the frame watching you move around the room. 'Where you going?' He asked, you shrugged. 'Don't know.' You said, turning back to you drawers and brining out Pyjamas. 'So you’re just leaving?' He asked, sounding annoyed. You stopped and looked at him. 'I'm leaving because I don't care about my life anymore.' You said truthfully, his brows furrowed. 'I almost died a month ago Mac and I brushed it off like it was a papercut.' You reminded him, he nodded. 'I need to go see the good in the world for once.' You admitted to him; he froze before nodding. 'You coming back?' He asked you. 'Eventually, maybe.' You said, giving him a small smile he nodded, as you zipped up the last of your bags. 'I’ve told Matty if it's a VIP case to call me and I'll meet you guys where you’re going.' You told him, he nodded as he grabbed a bag helping you with them down the stairs.
