#devil's game

Em has spent her entire life living in her MC President Father’s protective shadow so when a stranger reaches out - she grabs ahold and sets off a chain of events that change her world forever. Liam - known to all as Hunter - has signed his life over to Devil’s Jack MC and has never looked back until he found Em. She was supposed to be just another job... she was anything but a job. 

This was a bookstagram rec and I had heard about the Reapers from @mfred​ too so I couldn’t avoid this for long... and I was worried about 25% of the way through that this was so not a story I would enjoy. But boy was I wrong! 

Em has tremendous growth as a character going from being quiet and resigned to her life - passively letting others make decisions for her. To owning her sexuality, her life choices and taking charge and giving out ultimatums that would make lesser women shake in their boots! Liam is also a fascinating character to me. Ms Wylde easily could have made him an alphahole (this is a scientific term) but he also really realized that Em was someone he wasn’t willing to part with. He stuck by his word and willingly made the sacrifices to make sure that they could be together. It also is interesting how he deals with his past trauma and realizes that he can express how he feels about Em without using contrived language to do so. (And I definitely teared up for it!) 

I'm having a really strong urge to write more of Devil's Game because A.) I miss Diana and B.) I want Dea to be a thing again but I can't have that unless I actually write this book. They probably won't be together again until S3 so I gotta hustle lmao
