When pairing Devesto and MeQuot, I like to paint their relationship as more focused on tertiary attraction and a connection that's hard to label traditionally.

Here I've listed out what plays into part:

Devesto

Content with being able to know MeQuot through presence; "vibes" so to speak.

Interested in mentally understanding MeQuot. This comes from the fact that MeQuot is an undead entity, whereas Devesto is not, and is therefore curious on what it's like.

Interested in physically understanding MeQuot for the same reasons.*

Tagging along and helping solve the murder of MeQuot.

Enjoys teasing MeQuot. He teases everyone, but isn't as harsh with him out of pity.

MeQuot

Drawn to Devesto's voice. You could say it "scratches the itch in his brain".

Wanting to feel protected. This comes from low self worth, vulnerability, and the fact he has known Devesto the longest, henceforth having more trust in him.

Interested in mentally understanding Devesto. He wonders what the other's views on the world are, considering Devesto's general attitude is much more devil-may-care.

Platonic attraction (Partially repressed, knowing that Devesto is not interested in having friends.)

*I often switch between interpretations of MeQuot's anatomy. Most of the time I assume he's either semi-tangible and wispy or fully tangible, but I'm very open to more abstract ideas :-)

I've also seen others depict Devesto with robotic arms, which I think is really cool!

Given this, I'd say a lot of their potential situations are dependent on design, though I view this less of a restriction and more like having several possibilities to play around with #mydolls

Example situations I made for fun:

[Semi-Tangible MeQuot] - Devesto and MeQuot have both had a long day. MeQuot ends up leaning against Devesto from mental exhaustion, but since MeQuot's body is essentially fog in a holdable form, Devesto starts feeling very cold from the touch and has to actively restrain himself from pushing MeQuot away while shivering

Devesto wants to test out if MeQuot's sword can truly only be pulled out by him. This ends in Devesto falling backwards and everything in the room falling on him #loser

MeQuot and Devesto go shopping for clothes, and MeQuot ends up having to buy everything he tries on for obvious reasons (🗡️)

Ending this on a miscellaneous bit; I imagine Mequot smells like petrichor, lemon balm, blood, and earthy + metallic notes / Devesto smells like citruses, chili pepper, smoke, and metallic notes
