Miss Su Su, being an experienced woman, knows very well that 2 handsome men are better than one XD And these two, anyway, seem to come in one package, so)))
Detective L
Sherlock Holmes in 1930 Republican Era Shanghai :D
Another '30s Republican Era detective show :D Bai Yu is as charismatic as ever, playing a slightly eccentric, nearly genius detective with a dramatic flair. Definitely not omnipotent, but smart enough to stand out from the rest of the peeps.
A very good-looking show with a solid cast and entertaining cases - I honestly would have watched like 40 eps of this show, it was surprisingly lighthearted for the murder-mystery genre (that, or my relationship with this genre is rather, ugh, weird XD).
Anyway, a very decent contender for a comfort detective watch that doesn't strain you much. Cute dynamics between Luo Fei (detective) and his feisty girl-cop helper (Qin Xiao Man), but I especially adored whatever Luo Fei had going on with his queer coroner bestie who very specifically was mentioned as not liking women XD They sometimes spend a night together, share cigars, and, well, do the stuff that dudes usually do (I guess :D).
I don't think we've seen enough of Ben Jie Ming fiddling with corpses while Luo Fei is chilling on a slab nearby, having an existential crisis of sorts XD I loved how freaky those two were in a very effortless way. I think Luo Fei, Xiao Man, and Ben Jie Ming had all the makings of an OT3, but oh well, we've got only S1, ending on a cliffhanger and no continuation, but I still consider my time well spent :D
I also loved the curly hairstyles and those cute 'lil cape thingies they wore, and the overall interesting fashion choices. I don't know what they put in those pre-2020s shows, they're just so endearingly quirky (and quite stylish), I'm liking them very much :3
Luo Fei and his coroner bestie are definitely a mood :D sneaking a body inside the police station for an unauthorized autopsy XD and Luo Fei just casually lying on a slab meant for corpses, ah)))

Luo Fei actually went all Hannibal on the poor girl XD the actual coroner, who 'doesn't like women' (c), is freaky, but cute :3
those two are a mood XD
okay I'm liking it so far XD a bath scene in ep 2 and a FL with some hinges loose from the start :D classy))
Okay, but why are older shows vibing so hard? Or was 2019 just a magic year for cdrama in general XD I'm intrigued with Detective L.
