Because I haven't talked to the boy on the moon for a while now. We're in an imaginary stand off where I've just decided not to put as much effort in if he's not gonna reciprocate it. So if he's missing me, it's because he hasn't talked to me; not because I'm ignoring him.

It just sucks that I'm stuck in this stupid loop. He talks to me a lot for a few days, then goes quiet. Then for the next week I'll message him a few times to try and have a chat and he's just not into it. So I leave him alone and then a week goes by and were both completely silent. Then it starts all over again. And I just hate how I feel when he doesn't talk to me. I just start to internalize everything and I'm not that girl. I'm normally so confident with who I am and secure and he makes me doubt everything about myself.

I finally get back to being who I am and then I talk to him and it's like he sucks all my confidence away.

Let's take something relatively innocuous, but that there is a clear market for,

let's say, skin mags,

and make it illegal.  Since there is already a market for it, people are still going to make it and distribute it.  Hell, back in High School, there was a black market for it; the one guy who knew a guy and was reselling them in the boy's washroom.

Since it's illegal, some people are going to get caught.  All this means, though, is that the ones who don't get caught can charge more.  This is why drug dealers have their own private armies.

Next, since the only people involved in it are going to be criminals, it will, by definition, "attract illegal activity".  Worse, anyone involved in illegal activity can't exactly go to the police if they get stiffed.  They have to take matters into their own hands, which is where the violence comes from.

Now, the politicians who prohibited it in the first place will point and say, "it attracts criminal activity.  Even if why we banned it in the first place isn't really that bad, now it's mixed up with criminality that we certainly can't legalize it again."

Again, it doesn't matter what it was to start with, we go do it with table salt, and the effect will still be the same.  Table salt will always have a market, (it's actually a biological necessity), so even if you outlaw it, there will still be a market, a black market, and the exact same thing will happen as is happening with drugs, they get more and more valuable for makers and distributors, who can become more and more militant to protect them.

You can't use "it attracts a criminal element" as an excuse to keep something illegal.  Hell, if you legalize it, you might turn the dealers with their private armies into legitimate business men.
