                     Ragnar’s return
The wind blew as I waited for the sailor to doc at the temple. It had been years since I’ve seen the vanguard and my ex-lover Valkyrie-57. I saw that the Last city was now in ruins I knew exactly where to look. I could see the town come into view and a huddle of people at the shore. I heard the horn warn the people in the town as the boat came to a stop at the docks. The men at the shore tied the boat and I gathered my belongings off the boat. There she stood in all of her grace and pride the woman I once loved, Valkyrie. Valkyrie stood at the shore with her children, the twins were nearly grown and she held a babe in her arms. But I was looking for my daughter, Thora her mother named her. How old would she be? How big? I feel so bad for forgetting her little face. But behind a teenage Geri peeks out the face of a little awoken girl. She… She looked just like me. Valkyrie said a command in Old Norse, which to my knowledge was a command of dismal. They all made their way to the main hall, leaving Valkyrie and I alone to speak to each other. “Why have you come here?” Valkyrie spoke, her accent heavy as per usual. I finally mustered up the courage to speak up “To find you and the vanguard.”  When I answered her face shriveled in disgust. “You insult me by coming to my village… after all these years you come crawling back at my feet like a poor man” These words were poison as she snarled at me. “Valkyrie…I’m sorry… for everything” It looked like she wanted to burst out laughing but held it in. “You have a lot of work to do to make up for it…” With that she turned around and went on her way to the hall, me getting a cape smacked in my face.

                  A familiar face
Cayde tiredly lumbered to the temple’s now city. It bustled with civilians young and old it was loud and cheerful.  Some civilians stopped and stared at him as Cayde passed by; it made his guard go up. Why were they staring at him? What was this place? Why was it here? It felt so familiar but he couldn’t put his finger on it. He was making his way deeper into the city, looking around at the people and what they sold from weapons, foods, to little toys. As he was looking at a really good knife set, a young female exo caught his eye. She was staring him down with her aqua blue optics. Wait… she looked like him well if he were female of course. The body paint, her horn, everything expect the war paint on her face everything was spot on! As soon as he saw her, she was gone just like that. He saw the glint of her cape as she leaped over the houses heading towards the large hall where Valkyrie resides. Where was this young hunter going? What is she going to do? Who will she bring with her? He started to make his way out of the city in fear of being captured by the guards that lurk in the shadows of the town. But as he made it to the outskirts of the city; he could hear the sound of hooves to ground crashing down with a loud thump! On top of the horses were two exos, the young hunter he saw earlier and what looks to be like a woman of high ranking.  She was also an exo, her body paint was white, blue, silver and a smidge of black. The stranger leaped off her horse and walked over to him, her face riddled with grief along with shock. “Cayde! I thought you were dead! My prayers have been answered! You’re alive!”  The stranger opened her arms out going in for a hug which scared him greatly since she knew his name. “Back off! I don’t even know who you are!” She stopped a bit hurt at the comment, but she conversed with the young hunter, her face changing from hurt to understanding. “I’m sorry for my actions… you must be freshly risen by your ghost…”  Cayde relaxed a bit as she backed down and asked her something. “Who are you two and how do you know my name!?” Valkyrie sighed a bit frustrated that her once lover  was standing right in front of her but he had no memory of her or their children. “I’m Valkyrie-57 the leader of this city…this is my daughter Geri-3, I’m sorry I thought you were a different Cayde…” This was a total lie at the last of her sentence. She knew very well who stood in front of her, but he put her feelings aside and continued to get this poor man to trust her. “Come with me… the outside world is no longer safe… I’ll provide you a warm bed and hot food…” Should he trust her? He looked into her eyes and they had no ill intent in them, her face was so familiar… so warm….and loving like someone he knew in a previous life. “Alright… it’s nice to meet you Valkyrie….and Geri” He said and they all went back into the city, him riding with Valkyrie, his arms wrapped around the maiden’s waist.
