Ever since they were little, Dean and Cas have been friends. Dean would protect Cas from the bullies and Cas would help Dean with his homework.

Ever since they were little Cas has belonged to Dean. And when they were little that was a good thing, now though, in high school it isn’t quite the same.

Dean and Cas have always been close, and of course that has provoked teasing from the other students over the years. Referring to them as ‘boyfriends’ doesn’t bother Cas he wouldn’t mind being Dean’s boyfriend, in fact he’d be honoured, Dean is sweet and caring, of course he is also straight so it is ridiculous for people to think he’s with Cas.

However, other whispers and comments that have been made do bother Cas. Things such as:

“I wouldn’t bother him he’s Deans” Or “I wouldn’t risk it he belongs to Dean” Or “Cas is Dean’s boytoy”

But the one that bothers Cas the most is “Leave him alone, Dean doesn’t like it when people mess with his property”

Property.

People think he’s Dean’s property. He doesn’t belong to Dean, not like that. Sure he’s Dean’s best friend and picking on him is risking Dean’s wrathed, but Dean doesn’t own him. He’s his own person…he’s not property, especially not Dean’s.

When Dean finds out that Cas is regarded a Dean’s property, all hell will break loose, that’s for sure.

Dean had nothing going for him. He dropped out of high school his senior year to work full time at the garage in order to feed his family. His dad had taken their mother’s death the hardest and turned to alcohol to numb the pain, he eventually lost his job, which sunk him deeper into his state of self-pity.

All Dean had to keep him going was his little brother Sam and his best friend Castiel. Sam always looked up to Dean even though he wasn’t much of a role model Sam was adamant he wanted to be just like his big brother. His curious and ambitious outlook of the world motivates Dean to work his ass off, just so he’ll never have to see that light fade from his brother’s eyes.

Cas though, Cas is Dean’s rock. He keeps Dean sane, always supportive and logical. He often helps Dean figure out his financial situations while also making sure Dean doesn’t go without meals ( which Dean often does when his father has a particularly bad night of drinking). But best of all he encourages Dean to sing, though Dean doesn’t believe he’s particularly good at it, Cas is adamant that Dean sing for him. And he loves it, Dean enjoys singing and he enjoys singing with Cas all the more.

Cas learns how to play the guitar and they start writing their own songs. It becomes routine. The next few years are spent singing, laughing and strumming cords. When Cas’ dad walked out on his family and his strict, uptight religious nut of a brother took charge, all his siblings started falling out, music got them both through.Sam occasionally joining in and encouraging them to do it professionally, Dean and Cas would joke about it and laugh off Sam’s insistence.

It’s not until Sam is thinking about college and talking about becoming a lawyer, that they really start to consider following their dreams.

So I’m super swamped with college apps, and don’t really have time to even set up a Q atm.
