Zen’Zan of the Shadowglen trolls
And help they need, for to the south of them, howls in the night that traveled for miles, came from the village of Pyrewood, and the keep of Shadowmoon. They fought off several attacks from wolf like humanoids, that took a delight in eating people even more so than the Shadowglen’s cousins. And from the north, walking intelligent undead were starting to push down, destroying the forest and killing off the forest outright. It wasn’t until 8 years after the first one, Zen’Zan had to face extinction again.
Covered in dark fur, so dark that is could be guessed as black but it seems to have a dark green hue to it, although it could be the fact that in various patches there seems to be some moss growing in among his fur. Zen’Zan stands hunched like all the other worgen, but his arms almost reach down that he could walk four legged a little more forward, instead of going parallel with the ground. All four of his paws seem thinner than they should be, and if looked at closer, would reveal there are only 3 digits on each hand and foot.
Intelligent sharp blue eyes peer out of the wolven face, rings with gold around the irises. His ears seem longer, thinner, than a typical worgen’s pieces chipped out of them in areas, several small pieces of bone or rings of rock sitting in the cartilage. His hair hangs along his head placed in many braids which hang down his back and under his muzzle. His muzzle is frames with an extra pair of teeth, sticking up behind the first pair of lower jaw canines, although they seem to not be connected to the lower jaw, pinning his muzzle skin against his skull.
Zen’Zan was 12 years old when the Naga forces almost wiped out his people. Having lived along the Arevass River in the Silverpine Forest all his life, his people had taken to creating dams and creating Lordemere Lake, the young forest troll had grown up there all his life, studying to become a dark priest. His knowledge of the area proved to be very valuable, for when a swarm of Naga came through the area, and he being too young to defend, was able to lead some of his people deeper into the forested hills and mountains, trailed after by the snake people who were being led by a night elf demon hunter. There was only a few dozen people left afterwards, a few families, for the rest of their kind, the Shadowglen trolls, they had been eradicated.
Gathering his teachings, Zen’Zan was one of the few people who could still stand to take charge, and with his connection to the Loa to guide him, was able to lead his people to a secluded glen where his people tried to rebuild. Bwonsambi, the loa of the dead, took special interest in his group, having received a great influx of the Shadowglen’s into his arms. Eight long years passed, and his people struggled, but were creating a life again, having lost everything before. As he got older, and his petitions to the Loa got stronger, he was finally able to reach his tribe’s dedicated Loa, Halazzi. Having explained what had happened over the past years, Halazzi gave Zen’Zan knowledge of ancient glyphs, which he used to help empower the remaining Shadowglen.
The undead, who up until this point had been a threat, but one that they had been able to manage, hadn’t know exactly about the surviving trolls, but to what Zen’Zan and his tribe had worked to maintain. But when the Forsaken did they giant rush to claim the Silverpine Forest for themselves, they had no qualms when they did discover they were still breathing, and crushing them. They fought hard, and the Shadowglen showed no mercy, but they were at a disadvantage, and they only had guerilla tactics to use. Soon, they were pushed farther and farther south, and in a few months, Zen’Zan found he had been whittled down to just one group of trolls. They were surrounded, and being pushed higher into the hills.
It was in the night that they made their last stand. They had been caught on a cliff side, over looking the ocean, and were surrounded. Zen’Zan had never been a warrior outright, but the past few years and his troll blood wouldn’t allow him to go quietly
