Today I want to show you my first ever oil painting:

"Winter Tree at Sunset on the bank of Derwentwater near Keswick in the Lake District, England”

created from a photo I’d taken myself during a four-hour workshop by Lynsey Tyson at Castle Park Arts Centre, Frodsham, at the start of last month.

I particularly wanted to learn to use this medium as I’ve inherited some oil paintings from my mother that need completing!

Between 2 and 6pm today, I had a great beginning to mine, taking my first sortie into the world of oil painting - at a class run by the very patient, hugely generous and uber-talented Lynsey Tyson ([email protected]) at Castle Park Arts Centre in Frodsham!
