absolutely fucking disgusting that an op ed which is focused on advocating for strengthening the Violence Against Women Act to better support domestic abuse victims was successfully deemed defamation 

I do have to have another bitch moment. the absolute internet brain rot of that article by a 30 year old who fell for the depp propaganda machine and then hung around on a different subreddit for a while and realized she'd been lied to but every other sentence is like "I wasn't even seeking out this content, all I did was watch a bunch of youtube videos that were recommended to me (not my fault!) and spend hours on insane person tiktok and reddit (it was on my home page!)" and it's like???? i won't accept these people's being treated as cult victims, if your critical thinking skills are so weak you'll buy the cheapest brand of misogyny put in front of you then you should keep yourself off the echo chamber generator app

i’m sad that victims of abuse (women, nb people and also men) can be sued, harassed, mocked, and forced to relive traumatic memory after traumatic memory just for saying publicly that they have experienced abuse. i’m sad at how blatantly this shows that victims can have strong evidence and still not be believed. i’m sad that this was the outcome when amber heard can afford legal representation when so many victims can’t. but sure, #truthspeaks #mentoo

Literally, all supposed evidence as to Amber Heard’s allegedly abusive behaviour has been disproven so whilst I understand and respect people banning her because of the sensitivity and triggering nature of the entire situation people are also very much not under the obligation to block her themselves. To see an abuse victim labelled as perpetrator and villains in this new narrative is something that’s deeply uncomfortable to me as an abuse survivor and someone who grew up in a household where my mother was trapped in an abusive relationship.
