Repost from @marcusricefit #TopRankRepost Let me start this off by saying that cardio is a really good thing to do. It has multiple benefits, from improved cardiovascular health, to better muscle recovery, and more efficient nutrient delivery and waste removal. I always recommend performing some means of cardio to get your heart rate up at least a few times a week. - However, many people view cardio as an essential means of burning fat and getting lean and toned. This is where the problem lies, because as you can see in the graphic, it takes A LOT of time to burn even a single lb of fat from cardio, which is equal to around 3500 calories. - Most of us are busy people, who want to have lives that are not consumed with fitness. It is perfectly normal and healthy to not want fitness to take up hours and hours of our time every week. And since that is the case, the recipe for becoming lean and sculpted looks a little different. - The more efficient approach becomes to put yourself into a calorie deficit with your nutrition approach, eating a high-protein, flexible diet that allows room for a lifestyle, and then strength training to preserve/build lean muscle. That won't burn quite as many calories in the short-term, but it will burn more in the long-run because our metabolism will increase so that even on days we aren't exercising, we will be burning more calories than before. Add to this recipe lots of good sleep and rest, and you will see the fat begin to melt off of your body as well as increased muscle tone. - This is the healthy, sculpted lifestyle that I coach my clients how to live by building habits that last. Tag a friend who could benefit from this, and like and save if this brought you any value. - #weightloss #weightlossjourney #denverpersonaltrainer #weightlossmotivation #marcusrice #colorado #nutrition #nutritiontips #nutritionfacts #nutritioncoach #conquertraining #losingweightfeelinggreat #healthydiet #heathyeating #healthyweightloss #fatl
