Dendera Temple Complex
Hathor was a major goddess in the ancient Egyptian pantheon, who personified the principles of joy, feminine love, and motherhood. Like many deities in ancient Egypt, she had her own cult center that we call it today Dendera temple.
Dendera temple is one of the largest and most impressive buildings in all Egypt and it's visually stunning with its grand entrance, detailed carvings, hieroglyphs, and decorated ceilings.
The temple reflects the idea of the respect to the gods in ancient history, as the inscriptions and decorations in the temple show that pharaohs used it as a means of propaganda and showed their devotion to the Egyptian gods for example, in the hypostyle hall at the temple, the Roman emperor Nero is depicted, offering a "mother" model to the goddess.
The complex had a long history with Egyptian, Greek, and Roman rulers, many of them added their own mark on it, and our article here will help you to figure out more about such a great place and discover what makes it very special for history & art lovers.
