Kai makes me crazy bc he grew up (for a couple years at least) with the Saredi treating him like sweet precious babygirl, lots of physical affection and love. but then they're gone and everyone assumes him to be Big Scary Demon Do Not Touch and he just lets them but then you have Ziede and Tahren who quickly figure out that this demon is actually a super self-sacraficial sweetie pie and Bashasa. Bashasa who so slowly figures out more and more of Kai's true nature and level of devotion to him that Kai hasn't thought twice about from THE START. and then Ramad who's let Kai be drugged, kidnapped, and killed before meeting him and realizing that Oh no. Kai is a super kind and caring, charming good person beyond being a super pivotal historical figure and Ramad knows he has fucked up
Okay so it took me three tries to actually get into Witch King (book by award winning, exceptional, spectacular show stopping fantasic best selling author of the murderbot diaries, Martha Wells) bc she Really throws you in there without a damn clue as to what the FUCK is even happening with this one
but then I finished it and the sequel in 3 days
and now I'm bout to reread both immediately because THEY'RE SO GOOD. I love Kai so much!!!!! miss martha is the fucking queen of worldbuilding even when she's not telling you shit about it!!! this yaoi is DOOMED FROM THE START and has 29 works on ao3!!!!
Read Witch King of The Rising World series today! the third one might be out in a year or two and it really is so good im so excited to read it again now that I know what the fuck is going on all of the characters are soooo good and fuck i love them all sososooo much ms wells the autistic found family fantasy/scifi enjoyers of the world need you so bad

I started the audiobook for Demon Queen by Martha Wells. Its taking me a bit to get back into the vibe of the book but that's pretty typical for me.
I'm currently at 7%.

I finally finished my part of the art trade with shivuch, and Iβm obsessed with their character! This demon queen aesthetic is exactly what I needed to draw. I really wanted to push the textures on her horns and the metallic sheen on her silver armor.
