Drill gun got nothin' on these guns
an attack for @hasnomoxxie
sorry if this has already been asked, but when demolitionists are made, are they created as adults or do they have some sort of larval/baby stage beforehand (however long that may be)? are they able to reproduce with one another, or do new demolitionists have to be made the traditional way by someone with materials? demolitionist lore/biology pretty please 🥺
It depends on what the creator wants. Some are made as adults, others go through a larval stage. During the larval stage, all they can do is create the silk and powder used in their explosives, these larvae are handled similar to silk moths with extreme care to not harm the moth and the silk. Once they get a little older, they are allowed to work alongside their fellow demolitionists. Whichever job they are best in is what they will grow up into.
As I've stated earlier, Demolitionists tend to gain traits from their creators/masters/bosses. For example, Epitaph gain their wings and feathers from Telamon and their star patterns and dark blues from BM.
They are unable to reproduce. The only way to make a new one is through the traditional way: a puppet given life through magic.
I just remebered I can do whatever I want with Epitaph and the Demolitionists sooooo
There are 2 types of Demolitionists: Heavy Duty and Clean up.
Heavy Duty are pretty tall, bulky fellas whose main job is to destroy the majority of a structure. They are on average 6ft tall
Clean up are little guys that both survey the area, line a perimeter, and destroy and clean what's left of the structure. They are also the ones to check all of the weak points by checking every nook and crany. They are on average 3-4ft tall.
Epitaph is a clean up demolitionist
the last one was my original dynamic with them before i unfortunately started getting more attached to them as something more. i still like them as 2 different dynamics i can switch between

Based and Ready to Run
I am finally getting to work on the last of the Gloomhaven Player Miniatures. I saved this one for last because it looked like the most fun to paint. I was wrong. It's a pain in the a$$. Too much detail, not enough quality. It's nearly impossible to tell what anything is and what is just plastic blobbing. While the character looks enough like the picture to identify that's which character it is, similarities end there. None of the details are the same.
Incidentally, those are some sort of weird hand explosive weapon not lanterns. They totally looked like lanterns until I realized they were its hands. We'll see what I can do with a little time and patience to make it look fantastic. The demolitionist just looks like fun to play.

Demolitionist (Pathfinder 2nd Edition Archetype)
(art by Khoi “Kevin” Le on Artstation)
It’s a new week, and I’m riding the high of having come back from GenCon Indy (by the way, I was at a con this weekend!), so let’s get back into it with another archetype!
For as long as there have been fortifications, there have been those whose role it is to circumvent them. The creators of siege engines and artillery are one such example, but there are also those who get up nice and close and tear down those walls themselves, most commonly with high explosives!
Call them sappers, saboteurs, combat engineers, or in this case, demolitionists, but regardless, today’s subject is all about using explosives of all stripes to lay traps and bring down the defenses of your foes.
While not technically limited to any one class, the demolitionist relies heavily on the usage of alchemical bombs, meaning your options for playing the archetype effectively are limited to alchemist, any other class plus the alchemist multiclass archetype (which means you’ll likely not have a lot of room for your other class feats, which is fine if that is what you are going for), or spend a lot of time and money on learning bomb formulae separately from class options.
Regardless, once properly equipped, these explosive experts can be a destructive force on the battlefield.
Starting out, this archetype allows the demolitionist to rig a time bomb from one or two bombs, dealing damage directly to the object it is attached to, as well as damage to foes nearby.
They can also set up bigger bomb rigs with proximity triggers, which also massively damage the attached object and nearby foes.
With their expertise in explosives, they inevitably learn to protect themselves from detonations, especially their own, using cover or quick reactions to reduce the harm.
Having a knack for the life of a grenadier, these experts know the best way to throw and angle a bomb to maximize the damage of the blast.
Locked doors are no barrier to these experts, as they have perfected the art of rigging a bomb to blast them open with ease.
Normally, these bombers cannot increase the damage from their bombs with precision if they lay them down as traps or timed charges. However, with training they can overcome this, figuring the most likely places that a victim may stand and plan accordingly.
They also can learn to engineer explosives with shaped containers to direct the blast in a direction, striking in a cone rather than a radius.
Demolitionists are already in the business of bringing down walls, but some learn to use even that as a weapon, not only destroying walls and harming foes that are too close, but also potentially bringing the wall itself down on top of the foe.
They also learn how to use volatile substances to improve the effective radius of their blasts as well.
Needless to say, this archetype is pretty much begging to be used with a class or build that has at least some alchemist in it, as this will greatly reduce the overall cost of using so many bombs in a day. However, if you really want to, you can invest the gold to learn the formulae and produce the bombs yourself without the alchemist class features to back you up. The stealthiness of the rogue and ranger make this a natural choice if you want to use these abilities for discrete sabotage or distractions, whereas the overlap of both the gunslinger and inventor with alchemy can be quite useful for setting up a variety of deadly blasts. Martial characters might enjoy setting up explosive ambushes if they like fighting smart, whereas spellcasters that want to supplement their damaging spells might find this useful too.
As one might expect, demolitionists are most commonly employed by militaries looking to break sieges and destroy fortifications. However, such arts are also quite useful with adventuring parties and explorers, though groups more focused on preserving history might be very hesitant to rely on such methods in ancient ruins and the like. Still, there is no shortage of work that can be found for these characters, even if many are wary of being to close to them.
The peace of a grippli village is suddenly shattered when a violent explosion topples a tree that held aloft one of their treetop homes. The source of the sudden violence is an exiled grippli alchemist who has returned to take his revenge, and he brought friends in the form of a ruthless mercenary company too.
The fairy fortress of Moonkist is guarded not just by stone walls, but also by kelpies in the moat and magical enchantments that make the walls infinitely high to those that would climb of fly over them. The only way in is to blast a way through the walls, but getting a sapper that close will be very difficult.
Dissatisfied with the new monarchy, a former engineer of the army has gone rogue, sending threats that claim that he will begin detonating explosives beneath the capital if the new royal family does not abdicate. The party is called in to investigate these claims and apprehend the bomber.
