KAGEYAMA BIRTHDAY

@demaese​ : ( kindaichi @ tobio ) a box is left at his doorstep, left with yuutarou's name and a ' happy birthday ' scribbled at the bottom of the namecard. surely, if he'd actually rang the doorbell, he wouldn't be able to find the right words to offer. in his stead, the new pair of kneepads would do the talking.

The box caught his attention after he’d jogged his way home. There wasn’t much curiosity initially as he’d picked it up, assuming it may be a package for his parents, but when his eyes caught the familiar name and birthday message it gave him pause.

❝ Kindaichi... ❞ Things had become pretty complicated between himself and his old teammates so even if birthdays in general weren’t something Tobio thought much about the idea of them making the trek to his house to give him anything was never going to cross his mind.

But he did appreciate it. Very much so.

     There’d been a buzz around the castle for the past week, and hushed conversations she caught in passing informed her that it had to do with the King’s birthday. Surely, all the noble ladies still vying for a chance at becoming Queen had been preparing for it. They certainly held an advantage over the outsiders such as herself, being much more aware of His Majesty’s tastes than they ever could be. Or so she thought. Apparently, the King did not care all that much for the celebration. And he was incredibly hard to read, which made picking a gift a complicated matter.

Yuzuriha would not entertain the thought. She couldn’t begin to think of a gift - something material that she could purchase for him that would be appropriate. But perhaps she could do something for him. From their conversations, the princess was able to see a glimpse of the heavy burden on his shoulders, as well as the accompanying tragedy that placed the crown upon his head well before its time and colored every single decision he made. To say he was a busy man was a gross understatement, and it made her consider the one idea she was able to come up with for a long while.

He’d openly shown her favor, and had been both steady and patient when it came to arranging time for them to get to know each other better. So she figured he might accept having an informal breakfast with her in her chambers, just the two of them, and sent the invitation a couple of days prior. That would be her gift to him, should he accept it: a moment of respite. She couldn’t be sure he would come, until a knock on her door sounded, and a vassal announced his arrival. 

                                            .・゜゜・　chika　・゜゜・．

          “Please be Sailor Mercury... Please be Sailor Mercury...” Kneeling before the blind box on the bed, Chika prayed for the one keychain she didn’t have in her collection. “By the seven gods of good luck and fortune, please be Sailor Mercury...”

          With slow movements, Chika opened the box and tipped it onto the bed. Her face dropped. Sailor Mars. 

                          ❝  so  ---  you  think  you  can  just  show  up  to  my  academy  unannounced,  with  no  notice?  have  you  any  manners?  ❞  toph  scowls,  though  her  stern  disposition  quickly  fades;  a  wide  smile  seen  as  she  delivers  a  hefty,  yet  friendly  punch  to  the  other’s  shoulder.  ❝  i’m  just  kidding.  what’s  up,  sokka?  ❞

She should mind her own business but Peach’s bleeding heart ached as she saw the little boy simply wandering around the park all by himself. He seemed too young to be alone        maybe he had gotten separated from his parents ? While the princess was debating on whether or not to approach, the boy took control and approached her. She blinked large blue eyes down towards him as he tugged on her dress.

❝ Can I use your phone to call my dad ? ❞  He asked and Peach nodded, taking out the rose gold iphone.

❝ Do you know how to use this ? ❞ Peach barely did; this was the first time she’d even had a cellphone. ❝ I’m not very good with eelctronics. ❞

“You can be so hard on yourself...”

There’s no hint of the irony in the captain saying these words; Tooru giving his boyfriend a smile as he reaches for him; taking Yuutarou’s hand in his own. It was the end of a long day; practice having wrapped up and the rest of the team slowly departing from the gym.
