You know, much as I loved the Weird Route, I kept asking to myself what was the Point. Like, sure, it's meant to be disturbing, but surely it has a bigger meaning that just "what if the game was scary"? Compare it to Undertale's No Mercy, which does has the point of expanding on Flowey and Sans lore. But as Chapter 4 came out and didn't do much either, it kind of just went "welp, guess it doesn't mean anything".
I am, of course, the fool.
Chapter 5 Weird Route works as No Mercy's New Home. Like Flowey explaining his past and how he got there, we see the real Noelle. This is the point where we see the truth behind the character's facade. This post explains it better (https://www.tumblr.com/capribornio/820376226069872640?source=share) but, basically, the thing to understand about it is that Noelle is very much not happy. Even in the normal route, she talks about running away, and doesn't seem convinced when Susie talks about literally going away from home.
With Snowgrave, we finally get to see how miserable Noelle truly is, and how much she's been desperately looking for an escape. Which she does achieve. In the Weird Route. In the worst way possible.
