As a taxpayer, I am more than willing to contribute to essential services. I am less inclined to subsidise VIP anxiety management, for a misplaced sense of pride and "whataboutism." Furthermore, I recall the Prince’s own behaviour during a previous trip to London. You may recall he was wandering the city in search of friends’ homes. He was unaccompanied, unbothered, and unafraid. This does not strike me as a man who believes he is moments away from being ambushed by dark forces. It strikes me as someone in desperate need of Google Maps.
Should Harry wish to continue his casual wandering around London, may I suggest he is given: A smartphone, a functioning GPS app and if he insists on company, perhaps that one fan I mentioned earlier. She already seems eager to follow him and does so voluntarily. A win-win for the taxpayer then. Aforementioned taxpayer.
