I really enjoyed drawing the expressions on this one! poor Wild is super sick and delirious to the point where he is hallucinating that everyone is gone 😭

They both enjoy poetry (Espio bc of tmosth and Tumble bc he and Rough rhyme a lot) but they’re both beginners/not very good. Tumble starts hiding love poems for him to find. (They’re terrible.)

Tumble doesn’t cook a lot of things, but he can follow some instructions easy enough. He likes cooking meat the most, but Espio can’t have meat. (Because ninja’s can’t eat grease/anything with a smell) so Tumble looks for recipes that fit Espio’s diet. Espio likes to cook with him.

Espio essentially “wears the pants” in the relationship, and helps Tumble prevent himself from doing stupid things. He has him think before doing things.

Espio’s been helping Tumble regulate his anger and strength to things and people who actually deserve it, and Tumble has been getting better!

On the other hand, Tumble likes to take Espio out and do petty crimes just for the thrill. Jaywalking, light vandalism, trespassing, stuff like that. Espio feels great about it for like 5 minutes then gets queasy from guilt.

Espio has no idea how Tumble got him to fall for him. It’s like magic. Like, how?? His oaf-ish charm, he guesses..

Before they hug or kiss or anything, Espio makes Tumble brush his teeth and take a bath. He loves him but not enough to deal with stinky breath.

Vector, Charmy, and Rough are VERY unhappy with this relationship. Not because their family’s found love, but did it have to be them?! Imagine the family gatherings!

Rough once proposed to sabotage their date to make them break up, but Vector couldn’t fully go through with it. Espio doesn’t have a lot of things that make him happy. So if this useless skunk boy is making him smile, so be it.

Tumble tries to find fancy or expensive stuff around the abandoned white park chateau to gift to Espio (like jewelry or vases n crap) and Clutch seethes in anger watching Tumble just give his very expensive shit away-

They both hate being seen as vulnerable, so it took them a while to be equally affectionate with each other. (Tumble being the most affectionate)

That being said, they don’t normally show pda but Tumble will defend Espio if he’s being treated badly in public.

Espio’s favorite thing when no one’s watching is to sit on Tumble’s shoulder like a parrot. He likes to feel tall.

Tumble is (unsurprisingly) a big softy and very sensitive with someone he trusts. He was nervous about telling Espio the origin of his missing tail, and was relieved when Espio didn’t react negatively. Just listened and held his hand.

Espio has some scars hidden on him that he’s ashamed of (not sh but scars from battles or from his ninja days) and Tumble thinks they’re so cool.

It took them foreverrrrr to officially say ‘I love you’. To his surprise, Espio was the first to say it. Tumble had found Espio on a bad day and decided to cheer him up by going to the beach. He found this amazing spot without people, and it was so peaceful. Tumble was ranting about something and Espio just let it slip out.

It took them even longer before they had their first actual kiss. Espio gets too nervous and chickens out even in private, so Tumble gives him cheek or forehead kisses instead. Espio likes to do indirect kisses, like giving Tumble a sip of his drink or kissing his hand then covering his mouth.

Tumble loooooves being the big spoon, but has to be careful because he’s almost suffocated Espio a number of times.

If Tumble stays the night at Espio’s, he’s forbidden from getting midnight snacks. He tried once and ate some cinnamon rolls from the fridge and was startled when a very angry bee child was standing in the dark with his pillow because some jackass ate his pastries.

If Espio stays the night at Tumble’s, he’s not allowed anywhere in the chateau except for 2 places. Clutch is afraid he’ll find his secret hiding spot, and Rough just doesn’t trust him not to snoop around.

Espio told Vanilla and Cream about his and Tumble’s relationship and they were surprisingly supportive. A lot of Espio’s friends were, which was a relief.

Vanilla is desperately trying to convince Vector it’s ok but he can’t help but feel a bit nervous. Not just for Espio’s safety, but for Espio’s feelings if this goes south.

Tumble tries to ask Clutch for dating advice because he’s ’old and wise’, and every time he’s turned down because Clutch has never been in a real relationship and tends to just flirt and leave. Worst person to ask advice from.

If they had an argument, Tumble is the dumbass to stand on the front porch with flowers and a hose to make it look like he’s standing in the rain. /j

If they’re in a real argument, it’s probably because Tumble did something dumb and drastic that made Espio upset. It takes a little while because Tumble is very proud, but he’s always the first to apologize. Because not only does the guilt eat him up inside, but because he’s surprised he hasn’t died without Espio yet-

The worst thing that Tumble’s ever seen was Espio crying. It’s extremely rare if he cries, but it’s gut wrenching. It haunts Tumble. He vows never to let it happen again.

However Tumble cries almost every damn day. He cries over small things, stress, movies, anything. Espio always carries some dry tissues with him for Tumble.

Tumble tries really hard to bond with Vector and Charmy but fails every time. Charmy could actually get along with him really well if he wasn’t dating Espio.

Espio’s given up on trying to get along with Rough, but he’s still polite.

When Sonic found out about the relationship he was not only happy for Espio, but realized he could use this to his advantage with ragebaiting Vector and Rough.

Tumble once took Espio on a ‘romantic’ tour of the chateau and went skiing with him, but completely forgot chameleons were cold blooded and saw Espio go stiff suddenly. He rushed him inside to warm him up before getting too cold and kept apologizing for a full week because he felt bad.
