“Just on my own, then,” the words leaving her lips and into the span of the empty study. Rising from the plush seat of the sofa, a small sigh leaving her lips as she went to the liquor cabinet he often boasted about — with good reason. A man that prided himself in his liquor was a man after her own heart. Taking the glass and pouring the amber liquid of the whiskey she introduced to him, she lifted her mobile to see the apologetic text from him explaining he’d been called away on business. Which was admirable, he had done the right thing to inform her, yet it was unfortunate that she had no time to see it until after she had made it into his home. With the exchange between them, he offered his bed for her to sleep in for the night, as well to the hot tub on the balcony and who was she to refuse? A chuckle softly leaving her as she took the first sip, that welcoming burn made her feel warm and delightful. It was a shame to miss their date, yet relaxation is what she really needed after the day she had, so perhaps it was for the best. Ideas of food entered her mind when she heard the sound of the door opening behind her, turning around, eyes followed to the younger woman there. Releasing a breath as familiarity hit her which, in his presence, made it all quite the awkward situation. Not that he knew, not that she would tell him. Which made her wonder if that was the wisest decisions, honesty and all that, yet seeing her and flashes of memory, of feelings digging their claws within her made her think honesty wasn’t the best options towards the man she was dating, not when it came towards his daughter. “Z o e,” she greeted, crossing her arm around her stomach while the other still held to the glass of whisky. “I dunno if your father contacted you, but seems he’ll be gone for a few days. He said I could stay since he felt bad about breaking our date, but, if you don’t feel comfortable... Well, I’d understand and I could be on my way, if you’d like.” A pause, a thoughtful one as she looked to her face, a soft smile appearing. “Or we could finally have that talk we’ve been avoidin’, perhaps with drinks? To get into that situation would certainly require a lot of it.”
