Leo Delibes, Lakeme - Flower Duet.
Yâall, I havenât been great at posting any updates about my Opera Kittens, but today two of them figured out how to get onto my bed (itâs lofted and has a steep stairway up to the top) and Chipotle decided he didnât mind. Lakme (tabby, the runt of the litter) is getting some lickies, while Aida does a sit.

April 14. 1883 the today rare played Opera âLakmĂ©â from LĂ©o Delibes premiered in Paris.
Here we see a antique postcard from 1900 and a original program from The Metropolitan Opera 1934. Lily Pons was the star at that time for this role.
«La vida es hermosa cuando en ella se logra hacer un remanso para dos»

4 songs on repeat <3
Thank you @elle-est-gabri-elle for tagging me! I picked songs that I feel have some spring vibes:
Léo Delibes, Duo des Fleurs from Lakmé: iconic and overplayed according to some but the harmonies are sooo good;
Claude Debussy, Le Printemps: the first version with the choirs is pure magic. It feels like Bambi soundtrack, but even more ethereal and harmonic.
Florence + the Machine, "Rabbit Heart", because I'm once again caught in a Florence loop after she dropped her new album
Pomme, "Pauline", a sweet French song about an insecure girl who begs her over-successful rival not to steal her boyfriend. Pomme is an incredible yet underrated singer!
Tagging @lizziestudieshistory, @vanilla-academia, @plaidetchocolatchaud and @phoenixhallow to play along if you wish!
