Part Three- CardinalsÂ
You sighed before removing yourself from Brianâs lap. He looked up at you with pleading eyes, as if he wanted you to decide for him. You had. Of course you had, because it was the easiest decision one could make. You loved Brian, you had since the moment he annoyed you on the train to London. You loved him so much, you still had his black socks rolled up in the back of your chest of drawers. You had kept every letter he had written, every souvenir from his tours; The train stub from that fateful day, was hidden away in your jewellery box.Â
âYou really canât have one without the other?â You asked, brows raised high. He leaned his head back against the couch.Â
âNo, Y/N. I canât. It wonât work. If Iâm away with the band, youâll leave. If I try to stay with you as much as possible, the band will fail. It wonât work. Pre-destined chaos.â He grumbled. His eyes shut for a moment, he let out a deep sigh, before looking up at you again. You crossed your arms over you chest. This is it. You thought.
âItâs the band, Bri. It always has been, and it always will be.â He sat up at your words, more than puzzled. You felt yourself ready to cry, but you refused. You had to stand firm on your decision. This was for Brian. He needs them more than you.
âIf you refuse to let us live this life together, then go to the boys. Itâs what you truly want, we both know this. Itâs been about the lads since that day, back at the shabby old studio.â You let out a sad giggle at the fond memory. He was standing now, staring down into your eyes, praying you were joking.
âY/N, what are you....what are you saying?â He looked so sad, and it broke your heart to see him this way.Â
âIâm saying, the choice is made. You choose Queen, Brian. You always choose, Queen. Thatâs okay. I found what I was looking for in London, Brian.â You let a tear slip, and he quickly wiped it away with his thumb.
âIt was me, wasnât it?â He whispered. You could only nod, choking back sobs that longed to escape. He pulled you in to a warm embrace. You sighed against his chest, before allowing yourself to hug him back.Â
âI donât want to do this Brian, but you know I have to.â You looked up into his eyes, plucking a few stray strands of hair away from his face.
âIâm sorry, Y/N. I wanted you to come first, always.â His voice was sad, and you nodded in understanding.Â
âI know you did, Brian. I know.â

Capitalism is like a never-ending buffet where the food looks delicious but leaves you hungry for more. The delectation of endless choice often masks the emptiness beneath, as we gorge on goods while our souls starve. To avoid the psychopathy of capitalism, we must first acknowledge its seductive charm and then dare to step away from the table. Imagine an economy where cooperation is the main course and community the dessert. Start small: support local businesses, share resources, and invest in people, not just profits. By savoring these alternatives, we can nourish a system that feeds everyone, not just the few. Letâs change the menu and find satisfaction beyond the buffet line.

Narcissists are masters of manipulation. They have an uncanny ability to charm and deceive, often leaving strangers unaware of their true intentions. At the heart of their strategy is delectationâthe art of delighting others to gain control.
Imagine meeting someone who showers you with compliments, making you feel like the most important person in the room. This is a classic tactic used by narcissists. They use flattery to lower your guard, creating a sense of trust and admiration. Once youâre hooked, they subtly shift the dynamic, making you crave their approval.
Narcissists also exploit empathy. They share personal stories that tug at your heartstrings, painting themselves as victims in need of understanding. This emotional appeal draws you in, making you more likely to overlook their flaws and manipulations.
Another tool in their arsenal is the illusion of exclusivity. They make you feel special, as if youâre part of a select group that understands them. This creates a bond thatâs hard to break, even when their true nature starts to show.
In social settings, they often dominate conversations, steering them to highlight their achievements and superiority. They use humor and charisma to keep the spotlight on themselves, ensuring they remain the center of attention.
Understanding these tactics is crucial. It helps you recognize when youâre being manipulated, allowing you to protect yourself from their influence. Awareness is your best defense against the deceptive charm of a narcissist.
Title: âDelectation Dilemmaâ
INT. HANKâS BACKYARD - DAY
The sun is shining brightly over Arlen, Texas. HANK HILL, DALE GRIBBLE, BILL DAUTERIVE, and BOOMHAUER are gathered in Hankâs backyard, standing around the grill. The air is filled with the aroma of sizzling burgers. PEGGY HILL is inside, peering out the kitchen window with curiosity.
HANK (serious) Alright, fellas. Today, weâre gonna talk about something real important: delectation.
DALE (pushing up his sunglasses) Hank, I donât know what that is, but it sounds like a government conspiracy to me.
BILL (confused) Is delectation a type of sausage? Because I love sausage.
BOOMHAUER (fast-talking) Man, I tell ya what, dang olâ delectation, man, itâs like, you know, when you get that dang olâ satisfaction, man, like when you crack open a cold one, man, just dang olâ pure bliss, I tell ya what.
HANK (nodding) Boomhauerâs got it. Delectation is about finding pleasure in the simple things. Like propane and propane accessories.
PEGGY (from the window) Hank, are you teaching the boys about delectation? I have a pamphlet on that!
HANK (embarrassed) Peggy, this is a manâs discussion. We donât need any pamphlets.
DALE (suspicious) I bet that pamphlet is filled with subliminal messages from the government.
Suddenly, BOBBY HILL bursts into the backyard, holding a large, colorful lollipop.
BOBBY (excited) Dad, I found delectation! Itâs this lollipop!
HANK (sighs) Bobby, delectation isnât something you find. Itâs something you feel. Like when you mow a lawn with precision.
BOBBY (licking the lollipop) I feel pretty good right now, Dad.
HANK (softening) Well, I suppose thatâs a kind of delectation too.
DALE (whispering to Bill) I bet that lollipop is bugged.
BILL (whispering back) I hope itâs sausage-flavored.
As the conversation continues, LADYBIRD, Hankâs dog, trots over with a chew toy shaped like a propane tank. She drops it at Hankâs feet and wags her tail.
HANK (smiling) Now thatâs delectation. A dog who appreciates propane.
PEGGY (stepping outside with the pamphlet) Alright, boys, gather âround. Itâs time for a lesson in delectation, Peggy Hill style!
The guys groan, but they gather around Peggy, who starts reading from the pamphlet with enthusiasm. Meanwhile, Bobby sits on the grass, savoring his lollipop, and Ladybird happily gnaws on her chew toy.
FADE OUT.
