Ah, the Dib. Zim’s little human friend. This one was smart. Smarter than Miyuki was comfortable with - if he hadn’t seen through her disguise yet, he would eventually - or... well, Zim was still green, so it wasn’t... that hard to see through his diguise. Maybe she’s safe.
“I’ve noticed a lot of... strange symbols on the margins of your assignments, Dib- are those... some kind of, um... gang symbols? I don’t think gangs are allowed at skool.” They’re too similar to Irken symbols, alphabet or otherwise. The very same symbols she keeps writing on the board because she keeps forgetting that humans don’t read that. “I try not to... stifle student’s creativity, but if you could stop doodling these, I’d appreciate it, okay?”
He wasn’t supposed to find out, not like this. Oh she planned on telling him eventually, but under circumstances where she could gradually ease him into it, perhaps over a period of a few days? Weeks? Months?

In hindsight it was probably a terrible thing to say when you wanted to keep your identity concealed, and when you were talking to a boy whose unconscious aim was to have you strapped to a table with your son, but Mala wanted to give the boy some hope. Show him he wasn’t alone. Earn his trust and affection which she eventually had.

There were perhaps glaring appearances between her disguise and true form; the ring on her antenna that manifested as an earring, the same, sunset shade of orange...unmistakable emerald lenses. Her claws dig into the couch. She can only pray the child does not connect the dots.
