DEEP DISH “SOME BULLSHIT” Filmed: Mark Dunning & Jon Schmoldt Edited: Mark Dunning
Being able to digest and take inspiration from various international skate scenes is so hugely important to me. It's something I comment on more or less with every video posted on this blog.
I've been following the work of Chicago's skateboarding inhabitants for quite some time now, particularly lapping up the work of the Deep Dish collective and their choice of music, location and cast.
Finding a specific company or visuals that you enjoy repeatedly watching is a satisfying experience . What's even better is when content from said individuals flows so frequently and is of such a high quality.
Dunning's online release of "Deep Dish 2" stoked many yet to purchase a hard copy. This was followed by the upload of a 24 minute display of the boys’ travels through central Europe, titled, "Some Bullshit".
There's a few hyperlinks weaved into the text above to work though. Trust me, you're seriously blowing it if you let this one slide.
Deep Dish is a new zine from Matt Gamalinda and the website features a video filmed and edited by Mark Dunning. The whole project focuses on skateboarding from the Midwest, specifically in the Chicago area, and is shown through Gamalinda's black and white photographs.
Check the website, deepdishchi.com, to download "SLICE 001" in either large resolution by clicking the frontpage image, or a smaller version by clicking the download link.
Everything about this is amazingly well done. Get interested.
