(Vent/personal post. Be warned lel)Â
Today a year ago, my first boyfriend broke up with me. Each and every other day, I see this coward-of-a-person drive past me and avoid me completely. Sometimes, my stomach feels as though it’ll drop out of my ass when I see him. The same feeling I felt every night when I cried myself to sleep for months because of him. I saw this person drive past me today, and all I could do was smile.Â
It’s a year later and now look at me. I’ve achieved buying a car with my own money, getting my license, completing year 12 with majority of my marks being A’s, having an indescribably amazing boyfriend, having an incomparable family and a great group of friends. (I actually gained these friends from being abused by his new girlfriend on Facebook.) (Worked in my favour lol.) What have you done? Drop out of school and bum around doing drugs? I wish I could thank you in a way. If you never smashed my soul into 100 pieces, I would never be this successful person I am today. You would have dragged me down into your sad sad dark world.Â
The main point about this post was for me (And others if you actually read this) is to reflect positively on where you are after break ups. Whether it be a year ago or 10 years ago. How have you changed? How have you bettered yourself? What did you achieve that they didn’t allow you to?
On a brighter note, I am moving in with my boyfriend at the end of the year after school. Bring on the future.Â
