This series was...something. It starts out with a chick named Katy whoâs moving to the middle of nowhere from Florida, because her dad died of cancer and her mom wanted a fresh start. Katy isnât like other girls, though. She has a blog and reads books, she doesnât like parties, and sheâs the new girl. The second day being there, she goes to meet the neighbors: Dee and Daemon Black. Daemon? Heâs hot. But he doesnât like her. Why, who knows? But Katy and Dee become besties despite Daemon. And this leads to a whole lot of trouble. Mysterious things start happening to her. She starts seeing things. Everyone is telling her sheâs making it up, but she knows sheâs right. Eventually, the secret comes out about the Black family.
Basically, this is one big cliche. Itâs cheesy. Maybe kinda cringy. But despite it all, I enjoyed the first two books enough, and read them pretty fast. By the third book, things were just repeating themselves and it wasnât getting any more interesting. I skipped at least 3/4 of that book. But they were pretty good for the most part.Â
Also: there is a LOT of sexual tension in these books. Itâs hot, I can get into a couple steamy moments. But when it actually came to them doing the deed, it was like 2 paragraphs long and it was just:Â âIt hurt. But he was so nice and held me through it. I love him.â LIKE WHAT? Maybe itâs just me but with all the building up we had here it wasnât very climactic if you know what I mean.Â

Anyway, would I recommend these books? Yeah. I would. Theyâre a short, kinda fun read - cliches and boring sex scenes aside. Thereâs about 7 books and God knows Iâm not going to read all of them. But you might.Â
