Marsha let out a small growl as the other person began to talk to her in a condescending tone. Due to her physical age, she was no stranger to people dismissing her because she looked young. But before Marsha could say anything, she noticed how the person looked behind her, got scared, and ran off.

there's something about wandering about in the snow that atieno finds distinctively peaceful. although there was still the usual sounds that came from being somewhat close to civilization, the feeling of the snow blanketing so much of it that instilled a level of comfort within them.
they had just been walking through the snow, getting some space from some of the seasonal displays that seemed to be common around this time of year.
it often gets to be a bit much, so they probably shouldn't be too surprised that someone else might want some personal space from it all.
